1989 Volvo 240DL power steering, windows, 5speed manual, 4cly 2.3L?

Nice extra!!!
If you read it power steering then windows, as in power windows...
Quote from mookie427 :OMG h4x it's foreign!

hehe, was just wondering, as his flag is canadian, and the car obviously is not ...
think he lives in a, arab part of canada? If thats even possible????
Some country in Canada only have the plate in the back and not at the front so you can take a fake plate from another place and put it on the car at the front.
Not very difficult; I'm a canadian living in the UAE.

He was making a joke, hence the at the end of his post
Quote from greg_slideways :Dan your car is not crappy i think it looks good, and this coming fro a diehard ford hater, ima chevy man myself, but your car looks really good!

Yea, I agree to that!

Quote from keiran :My beast 1.25 Zetec Fiesta, no bad condition for a 99!

It's ugly as hell though! It's all like Droopy at the front like a stoned melon There isn't a model of Fiesta that looks good anyway, but that is the worst. I would of rather had a Citroen AX, now THAT is saying something! lol

Blasphemy! Mk1 and Mk2 Fezza's were, and still are cool!

Yea, maybe a Mk1 is cool. If you can find one that isn't rusted away, there are absolutely NON where I live, i have only seen about 2 Mk1 Fiestas in the last 9 years, both of them in Leicestershire

Yea, damn right it is
Oh here we go again.

I was this |..| close to buying a very tidy mk1 Fiesta the other day with about 20k on the clock. Bang in the 2L Zetec and you're laughing. Sadly I don't have anywhere to put it atm. Cars spilling off the drive as it is.

I'm not a fan of it's looks either but for the money I paid for it I ain't complaining. Cost of running it is next to nothing as the parts are so cheap and readily available, the engine is super reliable and fairly nippy for a 1.25. Comfortable to drive and handles pretty good along the twisty back roads to where I live.

When your 19, on a budget, need a car cause you live in the middle of no where you can't really be picky. Especially with the cost of insurance and fuel these days.

Awesome! I had a 2000 Special Edition. Great car. Reliable, nimble, and handles much better than the likes of Altima or Camry. With the skinny 195 tires, it goes through snow with gusto.

Speaking of snow... that car provided me with my first real life oversteer experiences. Blip the e-brake, modulate the gas, and drift that sucker. Handles very well at awkward angles. Uh... not that I condone that kind of thing...
Quote from DanielC :Nothing wrong with a DOHC, mines got fast road cams, polished/ported head, steel head gasket, big injectors, ngk sparks, powerchip, large air filter, straight through exhaust, etc. I'd have a DOHC over a Pinto any day, lol. As for the flamer kit, that's turned off 99.9% of the time.

Yea well DOHC can be some fun too... But the main problem is that it's lid is very unreliable when comparing to Pinto and getting more power out of it is very very expensive. And you can't get that much out of it than you can from Pinto.
But after all your DOHC seems to be better than average ones.

20k on the clock for a car that was created between 1976 and 1983? That's too good to be true, either it's a lie, and you can't tell the difference ANYWAY from all the rust. Or it hasn't had chance to move more than that within 32 years for fear of it losing the 1hp it had left.

Yea, I your right, and Fiesta's are the cheapest on insurers these days too

Its quite believeable if its been looked after. seen a few capris with that mileage at that age. my capri may be an 1986 model, but has 63k on the clock. some people just keep their cars nice.
Exactly. In fact, if you look on pistonheads, there are about 5 models i have seen so far with no rust, and less than 40k miles. Same goes for the escort RS turbo's. I just dont understand blueflame. Why are you flaming a car that you most likely have not driven? And not everyone rust's. The one's that rust are usually the ones not kept clean. Just please, stop all this negative talk and trying to start arguments, and maybe act more your age.
A car that hasn't travelled much doesn't tell a 'well looked after' car at all. And depending on WHAT is on your car, cleaning it off is only going to expose your paint to wear, so then your car is more likely to rust if it's kept clean to the bare paint even if paint is to protect rust, dirt would just be another layer, as I said, depending on what it is of course.
I dont know how to explain further as i am really tired atm, but im just curious why you have such a strong hatred towards fords. What is it about them you hate? You have a pretty poor list of car's you have driven, with most of them being old cars. If i remember correctly, none of them were fords. So, have you actually ever driven any of the classic fords like Escort RS2000, Escort/Seirra cosworths, Mondeo ST220, Focus ST etc. etc.

Also, i find it funny that you are slagging off other people's cars. Have you not seen what is parked outside your house? I know everyone can have an opinion on cars, but you seem to be slagging car's off that you probably have'nt even sat in, let alone driven. If you have driven something like a cosworth, escort RS turbo or that of a similiar nature, then you would realise that they are not as bad as you say. And i remember you saying that fords rust badly? Yes, they do (well, any from <2000) but only if you do not look after them. You seem to be forgetting that the cars that you mentioning rusting badly are old cars. I can assure your precious audi's of that same era will rust as badly. At the end of the day, im not telling you to STFU and stop acting like a dick (which i think some people would be happy with), but i think most, if not all people would prefer it here if you stopped causing arguments. Its fine making a discussion, but so far, you seem to be making rude, arrogant comments which then set's everyone off. All i am saying is just lower your attitude down abit and stop looking for an argument.
Not really worth arguing with Blueflame, he'd never understand a Zetec'd MK1 would dickslam anything he's ever driven and then some.

And yes it was genuine mileage, and yes I've seen plenty of others with similarly low miles. No it doesn't necessarily mean it's in good condition, but it's a good start. Who cares what the engine's got left in it when you'd be removing it anyway.

Personally I don't give a damn if you like Ford or not. Or indeed any manufacturer for that matter. What is getting boring is your continuous posts on a subject, that cleary, you don't really seem to know much about.
I know its not worth arguing with him, its just i dont know WHY he keeps on trying to start an argument, or he just post's shit about something he does'nt know about. For example, he may of called the scots (sorry, forgot your name :schwitz fiesta "droopy" looking, but if he would have driven one, he would have known its one of the best chassis in its class, and is a VERY entertaining drive for such a small hatch. Either way, i think ford rocks, especially those of pre <2000. My mom had an old Mk2 orion ghia X 1.6 once. Fook me, that car REALLY went good for a 1.6. We once got 130mph out of it, but then it ran out of steam. Either way, i miss some of the old fords and i wished we seen some of them on the roads more often .

I've driven a Transit van, which is what started my whole Ford hate in this thread. That aside, why is a Mk1 Fiesta so good if you are taking the engine out? You would probobly have to chop the car up somewhat to fit it in, 2litre engine is bigger in bulk than a 1.6
