Slightly odd request....
I'm looking for an adult American to record themselves reading the following passage from the Declaration of Independence.

I would like anyone who wishes to give this a go to upload the result in mp3 or wma somewhere for me. I intend to use the result in a short film I have to make for one of my final year university projects, and I need to have something which I am sure does not have copyright restrictions on it. Thus it goes without saying that should you want to do me this favour you are consenting to me using the recording of you as a piece of background audio in the film in question.

I would like you to give me your real name and the State in which you live, so that I can credit you in the titles.

Should anyone want to give this a go for me then I will obviously be more than grateful.

The words I would like to have recorded, [in a fairly serious tone of voice as though making a public speech of some importance which is a good enough defintition of the Declaration itself ] are:-



We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that
they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among
these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. --That to secure these
rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from
the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes

it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles
and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to
effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that
Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient
causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more
disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by
abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of
abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to
reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to
throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security

Funnily enough you are the third person to suggest him, wonder if anyone has his e-mail...

Personally I think Bush has pretty good delivery, I just don't like some of the things he says maybe I should mail the President instead....
