I could go on and on and on....

Eddie Izzard - Funny in drag or normally dressed, which is rare to be honest.

Bill Bailey - agree, even if he maybe a relative of some bug-eyed druid.

The Big Yin - Funny end of discussion

Steve Coogan - Only earlier stuff, the movies make me cringe.

Dylan Moran - Stand up is better than Black Books, and hes fantastic in that

Jimmy Carr/Ricky Gervias - Overrated, sometimes funny but rarely on the mark for myself.
Lee Evans has a reputation for nicking his material from other comics.
Yup, i was on about Steve Coogans stand up days. His movies are crap, but Alan Partridge is top

Gervais' Stand up is great.

Lee Evans doesn't really do it for me. Ok in small doses i suppose.

I forgot one... Al Murray, The pub landlord

Whats up with him? Ive only ever seen one video of his =S
My Nan's funnier than Jim Davidson and she's a grumpy person.

I was watching Billy Connolly's World Tour of Scotland this morning, he's a funny, funny man. Great story teller too.

Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran definately get my thumbs up, they were brilliant in Black Books and both great on stage.

Ross Noble is another great comedian.

/me goes to hunt for more stand up to watch.
Quote from mcgas001 :Whats up with him? Ive only ever seen one video of his =S

he works for the lizard people
We have...erm...Ardal O' Hanlon? Oh, and Tommy Tiernan, gas man :P

BTW, Dylan Moran and Jimmy Carr are technically Irish
LOL! LEE EVANS IS AWESOME!

Made me laugh for a good 30 mins straight
Quote from The Moose :First the BNP, now Jim Davidson.

You have to wonder how someone who isn't even 18 yet knows who Jim Davidson is. And where he gets his extreme political views from.

I think there's an older male who's a big influence on this boy.

Daryl O Brein (host of 'Mock The Week') is hilariously funny, saw him live at the Fringe festival, and was in stitches for the whole show. A very funny guy.

Wouldn't brag bout Jimmy Carr, in fact i would blame that on another nation..............say England.

On a separate, and still totally irrelevant point, apart from Rob Breydon (sp?) is there any funny Welsh comedians?

Yea, but it's Dara Ó Briain not Daryl O Brein
Quote from niall09 :Yea, but it's Dara Ó Briain not Daryl O Brein

That guy is pretty damned funny. Just watched his whole stand-up on YouTube.
I can't believe I'm the first to remember Monty Python.
As British comedy goes there is no equal.
What about Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman etc.
Quote from niall09 :Yea, but it's Dara Ó Briain not Daryl O Brein

At the time I poste, and the state I was in, I was lucky just to get close
Quote from March Hare :I can't believe I'm the first to remember Monty Python.

I got the feeling he was on about Stand Up comedians when he asked, otherwise Monty Python would have been on the list along with Blackadder (2,3and 4....1 was guff) Alan Partridge, The Day Today, Brass Eye, anything with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer......

Better stop, the page would fill up.

You can say a lot of things about the Brits, but never let it be said we're not funny
I now think it is uterly hilarious that Shutterboy's hread got closed as this thread still is open to comment.
