The online racing simulator
I don't think too many of us are that bothered which game we play as long as it's fun and doesn't get boring half way through the season.

If it's a game where we all end up with the same drivers, cars and engines every race then it may become very predictable very early in the season. If there's a game that allows you to change the whole team race by race making it much more of a lottery, then i think that would be much more involving and exciting.

On the info thats available i'd favour Fantasy Racers, but if there's another game like it that includes choosing a chassis and engine as well, then i'd suggest that would be the one to go for.

Might be worth having a look at some of those...

Edit: This one from one of the above links seems interesting http://www.purefantasyf1.net/en/
Quote from Hyperactive :I'm just waiting that all the manager games are opened so I can see what they are like and make the final decision. This thread was just to see if there is anough people for this year and to hear if someone has some experience/knowledge on some other games that I've found.

None of the mentioned games actually start in februari, some of the games are just opened for sign up then. F1 season starts mid march and the first race is on 16th of march so there is still lot of time left.

Oh right okay, I seem to recall reading a "Season Starts Febuary" on that one you used last year, but maybe it said sign ups.
im in..
Aye why not. I'm up for a bit of that
Quote from mcintyrej :Girlfriend?

Nooooo...

LFS gets quite boring after a while and you kinda regain social life: for a while. Then it gets addicting again.

And still no GF.
So was a decision reached on any of these games?
And if so, how did I miss it?
The ff1.co.uk has opened... and forgotten. Imho, the http://www.f1racemanager.com/ looks like the best option so far but I'll wait just a week or so and make the decision then. The sportdreams.com/ hasn't opened yet and I'll want to see it before making the decision

Just a heads up that this is going to happen
Oh its open now I'll give it a try. f1racemanager I mean.

EDIT: lol, typo, I meant the f1manager.info, not the f1racemanager
Thanks for the update.

I went ahead and made an LFS League on www.f1manager.info and if you want to join it, here is the info:

http://www.f1manager.info/
Name: LFS F1 2008
Pass: lfsf12008

Not hard to guess, but like it really matters .

Question though, how much money do you guys start off with to build your team? Mine seems bugged....

I've joined!

I have $130M
Joined. 3 so far.. I hope more join in soon
I'm in, team CarbonStar.
What are you guys doing?

I was keeping the http://www.f1racemanager.com/ as our primary option because it is so much better option than the .info one we had last year. Just compare the two. Both are just as simple but the f1racemanager.com has much more depth into it.

Tweaker, if you want to make your own manager game league, at least make it in your own thread.

I have the "The real BF1 league" ready at http://www.f1racemanager.com/ but I think it is really worth to wait to see what the www.sportdreams.com/ are offering. The start of the F1 season is still over month away so there is no hurry yet either...
Sorry, we are just too excited..

Geez, a little selfish? It's just something to sign-up for, who cares who makes it. Being proactive is a bad thing?
Well, now the whole thing is split up between two sites... I don't care who does this but... you may as well do the whole thing then.

Better focus on one instead of multiple systems, I guess. Good luck.
Well if you want to start one, make a decision!!! What is there to figure out? You keep saying you are undecided.... lets get this show on the road so we can get plenty of sign-ups.
So which one is it? The longer the wait, the more people scatter
No decisions yet? Looking forward to competing, I got in two races late last year and was behind the whole season.
If people are tired of waiting we might just start then

Imho, the best choise is the http://www.f1racemanager.com, it has basically the same options as the Tweaker's one (what we used last year) but it has few things and features that hopefully make it more balanced and exciting throughout whole 08 season.

I'll write a proper thread for this tomorrow with a small strategy guide based on what I learned from last year so hopefully more people get the basics right this year .

Sooo, the site is: http://www.f1racemanager.com

To get going:
1. Register on the site
2. Go to the Edit profile tab and put this info in to join our LFS 08 BF1 season:

Private subleague name: The real BF1 league
Subleague Password: [Follow this link for the password]
F1 Race Manager is a good choice. Has a little more depth by having to buy some cheaper stuff, and I like the features and how it works.

Signing up there
I'm having difficulty signing up for F1 Race Manager (.com)...

I got to the mascot selection and my brain stopped working properly
I am in

@ Dajmin: Yeah lol, it is probably the first time i have so patiently gone through a list of thumbnails observing each one carefully

btw, I forgot to add that it is a good choice the f1 race manager, it has a very nice interface and bit more depth. It should be fun.
