This is really annoying me and Im desprately searching the forum to find an answer.
If these tests come back ok, then you can talk to the master server and the issue is not a "general connection problem", in laymans terms.

You may wish to try using the master on the alternative port, which is 8080. To do this open cfg.txt. Find "Master Port" and change from 29339, to 8080. Save and reopen LFS. If that helps then your ISP is doing naughty things and fiddling data on certain ports.

If this doesn't work then it could be a local firewall problem. If you're in Windows, go into the Windows firewall control panel (or the control panel of whatever firewall solution you're using) and remove any reference to LFS. Reopen LFS and then ensure you're in windowed mode (shift+f4). When you make the first connection out you should get a warning asking if you want to allow LFS access to the internet. Say yes.

If this still doesn't work then it's possible that you're actually getting a response from the master, but the connection that your PC makes to each server to make the list (which is how the master list actually works) is being fiddled with. There are several reasons for this, the most common being that your ISP could be looking at "high port" traffic and throttling or blocking it. Because LFS uses a "high port" by default, there's potentially not much you can do about it except complain or persuade every server admin to run on a "low port".

There are several other possibilities, but these are the most likely, or most common ones.
i buy a new computer and after that i try to log in on lfs and server says no this weeek .please help and sorry for bad eng
Sounds like you've run out of unlocks. You should get another one today, so you should beable to unlock LFS.
Getting dropped
I just built a new Steve Austin computer and played rfor about 2 weeks with no problems. i started getting dropped a few days ago very sparsely. It has increased, however, to every minute now.

How to unlock last S1 clearly ? i have tried some "unofficial" patchs , doesn't work
I don't want to use crapy unlockers !
Quote from lebifteksauvage :How to unlock last S1 clearly ? i have tried some "unofficial" patchs , doesn't work

You can't for several reasons;
1. The master address has changed (which the patches fixed)
2. The master now appears to no longer recognise older versions of LFS, and thus will not unlock them
Yeah i know master server moved , that's the problem

Why S1 licence can be actually payed if you can't unlock these officially ?
Anyway ... i'll try later , with some working unknow patches
Quote from lebifteksauvage :Yeah i know master server moved , that's the problem

No. That WAS a problem. The unofficial patches FIXED this. However, The master no longer appears to answer in a way that the old versions expect. This is the problem that is not fixable in a reasonable amount of time, and a legal way, without developer assistance.

Quote from lebifteksauvage : Why S1 licence can be actually payed if you can't unlock these officially ?

Because the licences are a content level not a patch level.

You don't pay for a version of the executable. You pay for the tracks and cars.

You are always expected to use the most recent version by the developers. There is no reason, other than nostaligia or to get replay's into a video, to use an old version.

Currently the newest version is called LFS S2 0.5Y. It's called LFS S2 because it's the second stage of development and it contains upto the S2 licenced content. You can still use an S1 licence with it.
Please Help Me!!
Quote from the_angry_angel :No. That WAS a problem. The unofficial patches FIXED this.

Fine , show me thread link of patches . If we talking about the same think , these doesn't work .
Quote from lebifteksauvage :Fine , show me thread link of patches . If we talking about the same think , these doesn't work .

I meant that they had fixed this, but the patches no longer work because the master server no longer appears to answer in a way that the old versions understand. This is the problem that is not fixable in a reasonable amount of time, and a legal way, without developer assistance.

I've added a "However, " to my original post, incase I was unclear.

It's written in that thread, in bold, in my first post where you get the patches from. I know this because I released the patches.

SPRAYBOO,
you are able to make basic contact the master server. This means that it's not a general problem. Try changing the Master Port in cfg.txt to 8080. Does that help?

Sounds like you're using a very old version of LFS.

I'd suggest upgrading to 0.5Y, available from the main site.

Older versions no longer work because the master changed address, and they had a fixed address in the binary.
Hello gents,

I am having connection issues with any server I try. Sometimes can access the server then get kicked, I have also been told I am lagging badly whn I do manage to get connected. Sometimes I cannot access any server. This has just started happening a couple of days ago after nearly a year of trouble free online racing.

I have re-installed the latest version of LFS again and have the same connection issues. I've also switched off my router for 20 mins, still no joy. would much appreciate any help you could provide, thanks I need my LFS fix, much more of this and I'll start talking to my wife again....

Edit: I am also now getting user is already online when I try to connect
