Oh crap the McLarens were quick. Ferrari obviously had to take risk with the 1 stop tactic, with two stop they wouldn't have no chance whatsoever.

One thing that can't be denied about Hamilton: this one sure knows how to brake... That was right on the ragged edge (could have gone nasty quite easily though)...

Great race. I love seeing LH and FA going head to head without any pesky Ferraris or BMWs in the way.

And we even got to see some real overtaking action. LH's moves are fine with me. The difference between his "chops" and MS' is that he stops pushing before the other driver is on the grass or has to back off.

I loved how Hamilton used the locked wheels to rotate the car into the corner. Spectacular pass!

There was a lot of good racing today. Reminded me how much talent there is in F1.

I loved Button and Rosberg's little battle - really great viewing

I dislike Mclaren, but that move that Hamilton pulled on Kimi was an amazing pass. Good job Hamilton!

Hamilton reminds me of Sato, but with a better car and a lot better judgment.

Not to hate Hamilton, he certainly did a good pass but it wouldn't have happened if Raikonen didn't have neck problems.. He said he couldn't hold his head up while braking therefore not being able to see correctly..

Not to say Raikonen 'mis-judged' LH position and thought he wouldn't pass right there, you can clearly see that because he doesn't try to defend the position. Hamilton had to try and it turned out good.

Sorry but "good Racing"? Did you see this weekends Porsche Supercup Race and the GP2 Race in Monza? Or the Indycar Race in Chicagoland or the NASCAR Race in Richmond? They all have close Racing, overtakings (on the track) drivers making a difference and alot of Action going on, watching different Racing leagues every weekend really highlights it - this procession of F1 "Racing", where the Races start is on Saturday with Part 3 of the Qualy and gets decided by pit strategy on sunday - its a shame really.

It was a cracking race for me, really enjoyable to watch throughout. And if you notice, this race had close racing, plenty of overtaking and the qualy order wasnt even close to the race order (apart from the two mclarens.).

LOL, what do you expect him to say? I said that Kimi was being slow because he couldn't keep his head up while braking, imagine not seeing nearly anything while you're entering the corner. YES, Mclaren's were faster anyway.

Yeah, minimal downforce definitely allows better and closer racing. I wish the FIA would change the rules to limit aero a lot and make mechanical grip predominant.

About the race - Some good parts but IMO seemed pretty average with the only interesting parts was button's battle and Hamilton passing Kimi.

That wont happen anytime soon

It was a free weekend for me. I watched F1, NASCAR, IRL, and the American Le Mans (GO FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS ). They were all exciting.

However I liked the INDY race the best cause it was the closest racing I've seen overall

I think Hamilton's move was brave, but what really gets to me is if someone did that in LFS and the driver infront turned in on him, you'd all be saying what a terrible move it was. I'll be sure to try that kind of banzai braking against one of you next time I'm online, I'm rather certain I'll get flamed :P.

I agree. In fact I'm sure I said earlier in this thread that the move was too banzai for me, although I can't be bothered checking. The only problem is that it encourages people in LFS to drive like that, to only overtake through heavy out-braking, to not bother about overlap, or positioning, or to drive with any racecraft at all really. Anyway, I'm in a ranty mood, so I'll stop there.

i don't really think the drivers can be blamed this year. the car just hasn't been as reliable as it needs to be. i'm sure kimi would have defended harder against hamilton's pass if he knew he had a car that he could push, but after his crash in quali and massa's problems earlier in the race, i think he was conserving the car, trying to score a few points, instead of pushing it and risking scoring none.

If Ferrari had reliability matched to Mclaren, Massa and Kimi would be leading the champoinship.
