I actually liked it, the people who got banned from abusing it, made the forums much smarter and easier to deal with.

Actually that's a much easier solution you sort of mentioned there. Ban people for being stupid.
Either they stop being stupid, or they get banned for it. It's a win-win situation

I highly doubt that. These forums are never going to be smart and clean until mods take out the heavy whips on those who obviously junk this place up. But I think everything is quite laid back here, so I don't see that happening anytime soon. Should have a bit more action taken to prevent such users of making the forum their 'life'... it has always been out of hand to be honest. I rarely want to post or visit here anymore, compared to how often I used to.

EDIT: Exactly AndroidXP

Lol, I know what this forum needs :

"You need to be at least 18 years old to post at this forum"

That would be awesome :chefsmili
That'd be crap, becuase then I can't spam, nor can Jakg!.

and the fact there'd be 5 total forum members... :o

No, I think you should only be able to post if you have real track experience and you would need to own RWD car, now how nice would that be

Rofl, how many members are actually over 18 years old?
I mean, when I saw in a topic about posting your face and such, most of the poeople seemed (don`t be offended) to be kids :/
Of course I have nothing against that, I was just a little shocked because I belived most of the members on this forum was grown up people
I thought the thank system was quite good. A bit of feedback is always nice. And Tristan already summed up all the things that could be improved.
I was just kidding, I dunno, I think that an 18+ rule would be bogus, because then I can't post and offer my amazing insight :'(
I am sorry to see that the 'thanks' feature has been removed. I really liked it...
It was nice to try something new, but sometimes simpler things are better, and IMHO this is one of those things. Yes, +/-1s can clog up threads and aren't organised, but they make sense, you can agree/disagree, leave a comment with them if you want... and you can't abuse them.

That would be utterly stupid, from what i've seen age is NO means a sign of maturity, there are lots of stupid teenagers on these forums yes, but there are some DEEPLY fecked up "adults" too.

O'Really?

But seriously age has not much to do with maturity, however when age is below let's say 15 there always is this lack of understanding of world thing, which can lead to thing or two, but on average race sim kids are much better than those playing some online role playing game, I would say.

Would put Thanks to your post, but as feature is missing I just ramble some stupid stuff, can't post just +1 or agree as that would be just an clutter and waste of space
I'm not going to disagree with the fact that usually the younger you are the less mature you are, but there are some exceptions - i'd like to think i'm one of those. I mean look at Lible - he's 13, and you'd never know it through his forum posts. Compare him to Harjun.... Then compare Lible to people like KiD, Muhaa, and the guy who made the frankly disgusting videos about Becky, all so called "adults".

Age Stereotypes are one of my BIG pet hates, it's the reason why i have to trade on my Dad's names to fix PC's because it's the natural assumption that a 16 year old in Jeans doesn't know squat, whereas an 19 year old in PC World who's getting paid £7,500 a year with a name tag and a crappy slogan instantaneously knows all.
:wave2: thanks-system.

Nice to try new things, anyhow.... seemed a bit superfluous to me
It was a nice feature from my pov. Sad its removed now
It was alright, becuase the usual people who waste my time having me read useless posts, were banned for abusing it.

+1

I didn't really mind the "Thanks" system, I think it could have been successful with a bit of refinement.

You got a point there, and i think you are totally right... only the PC fixing thingy i got other experiences with. I Never got the looks i could not fix a pc when i was around 16 years old, i did that a lot and people were grateful for that, neither did i had to abuse my dad's name to do so. Also we all tend to get older, now i'm 25 and you could think of me as how you discribe the 19 year old bloke. It's true that age does matter when people judge of you, but when you prove them wrong showing you are actually good at it, this news will spread too and even at lower age you will build up good reputation. Just be yourself and don't pretend to be someone else, otherwise the other one will get the credits for it, not you.

I actually started fixing pc's at the age of 10, which seems even more curious, but i started to work with pc's at the age of 2, that's a lot of experience allready at the age of 10 so i could bring up a lot of information to convince people i could handle the job. Don't ever think you know what others will think of you beforehand, prove yourself, show confidence! And please don't blame the 19 year old for being confident and earning money, you can do so too. Now in real life you would think of me like that same 19 year old, but I am not doing my job as if i don't know shit and getting money for playing a smartass becouse i'm old enough to be accepted as a specialist. That would be sick, i spent lot's of time to getting where i am now and i deserve every penny , it has nothing to do with others' judgements.

I would say, go for it, forget the Age Stereotype shit... i could do it, you CAN do it

Sorry for going way off-topic here, i just like mindbending
