Blackpool's on fire!
Anyone in Blackpool right now? Then you might of seen or heard about the fire in down near north shore.

News article: http://www.blackpoolgazette.co ... ol-news?articleid=3082652

Also, because I live so close to the fire (not within evacuation distance though ), I can take pics from my bedroom, so I attached a couple.

That looks... small.
Well it is pretty small, no casualties, but nothing happens around here thats remotely interesting so this came as a suprise and I thought to share it with people
Had a weird one outside my house this morning. Guy across the road was on a cherry picker, three storeys up doing something to the guttering on the front of his house, and a truck came past and clipped the arm. Threw him out of the cradle.

The street's still taped off. Lots of blood around, no news on how the guy's doing yet.

Jesus.... Hope he's alright! Bet that truck driver is in a bad way....
Oh dear, according to this there were two guys up there.

I don't think the truck driver was to blame. If the elbow of the crane was sticking out into the road they should've had cones out or a guy directing traffic around it. The driver might not have even seen it because there are trees lining the road.
Looks like someone's having a BBQ
That is small in comparison to the one we had in Southampton. We had a black cloud over the whole bloody city and the explosion shook everything, some bloody student blew up a lab at the uni.

Still methinks theres a slightly worse thing going on in America right now, saw it on the news last night.
What is this? Just a house on fire? Sheesh, in Pittsburgh, there's like 2 -3 houses caught fire every other day. House fires are constantly in the news.

Ouch on the guys on the lift near Kev. That's lousy.
As I said, its boring around here and this is the only interesting thing thats happened since I moved here

Ouch to the cherry picker guys

At first I did think it was a roof BBQ, but then when I got onto my kitchen roof and got a good look, the top of the building was on fire. However now the fire is gone and it has no roof or windows now... wonder if it'll be knocked down now?

I'm still wondering how an empty 3 story house catches on fire
@VTRoj: Electrical fault, kids playing with lighters, who knows?

Scary, I used to stay near there.

DK
come to Ireland , where i live theres about 4-10 fires each day where i live ( the posh parts )

that looks like some Essex boy in a escourt doing burn-outs
What the hell....either you have gotten the wrong idea of posh parts or the posh part where you live is an actual house. I live in a nice area, and we never get fires.

Edit: lol you quoted yourself in your sig, bwaha!

These are the worst fires we have had in a while, and these area's are'nt too nice.
