imo? i'd get the 7900GS as it's faster, but it lacks DX10 compatibility - but while the 8600GT has DX10 compatibility by the time games go DX10 only, i don't think the 8600GT will be able to cope

What site are you using to compare prices on? you can pick up a X1950GT for $114 and it's a little faster...

Go for X1950GT.Should be same price as 7900GS and its a lot faster.

7900GS or X1950Pro. The 8600GT is weak, and there isn´t any game with D10. We have to wait a lot of time for D10, so don´t worry about it yet.

Actually, here in the jungle, the 8600gt costs 499, the 7900gs price is 620,and the x1950Pro is 699, 7600gt is 440, soo thats why i think the 8600GT is a good deal, since my budget limit is close to 600 and thats it not a cent more.

I dont want to run any game not even LFS close to max settings, i just want it to RUN (wich my current computer does not) with 60+ fps at least no matter the quality at any resolution above 640x480 and below 1280, (no AA and no AF crap i never used it anyway) i just want to play these new games.

Could you tell us please whats you current PC specification?
7600GT is more then fine for LFS.

i understand, me likes US and A .. my current computer is 950mhz amd, 384mb ddr 333mhz, crappy HD, asus mobo,geforce2 mx400.

New rigg will be 4200 athlon x2, asus m2n sli, huntkey 450w p. supply, 8600gt(???) 2gb DDR2 kingston 667mhz, same crappy HD for a while.

if it's just gonna be for LFS then the 7600GT will do fine, although the 7900GS is a better card

I'd get the 8600GT as I have the 8600GTS and it runs LFS perfectly. Here are some benchmarks of the 8600GT and 8600GTS. Scores have improved though as better drivers have come out, as the ones they used are about a month and a half old now.
