I think the simple answer is: Racetracks don't use cones, they use those flappy thingies that are bolted to the ground. Autocross does use cones though so maybe one of the RL autocrossers here can tell us something about the size.

Doesn't the FIA have technical regulations that state what can and what cannot be on a track? I think that a realistic racing game (simulation) should respect the... realistic FIA regulations.
