I got my learners permit a few months ago. Why are there so many terrible drivers? I feel that I am a fairly good driver, and when I do make a mistake, at least I am a responsible driver! I go (within 5mph of) the speed limit, stop a stop signs, use the turn signal.
And, whenever someone honks at me for whatever reason, I flip them off!
The second day I had my temporary licence I got caught for speeding
I won't lie about it, I speed a lot, but mostly on a road where I know it's safe to do so, most of the time just straight ahead. Mostly I also go only 10 km/h too fast, to avoid huge fines. After a while of driving you just learn where it's possible and where it's not.
Having passed in Feb, I'd like to take this opportunity to bitch about tw*nts who take the wrong lane onto a roundabout then cut me up coming off it. Road markings, damnit! READ THEM!
Nothing much, a Ford Fiesta MK4 1.8D. It's slow as hell, tops out around 160 km/h and it takes about 17 seconds to get to 100 So go figure how it drinks too much, it's not the performance kicking in!
Well, another thing is, where I live it is rare that you can even get to the speed limit! I'd say 60% of the day, you are lucky be able to go 10 under the speed limit if you are on the main roads. But once you get off the secondary roads, then you can open up the throttle a bit more. In my dads saturn, it is not rare to have to use full throttle to get up to 45mph without being run off the road!
