This thread is meant to work as a log of keeping list of all improvement suggestion made for LFS on this forum as well as on some other forums. The log is supposed to include only the ideas that have not yet been implemented to LFS or ideas how to enhance the current state of a peculiar feature. It's a good thing to browse through this before making new suggestions.

All the ideas are discussed on this forum or other forums by LFS users and opinions and ideas are presented as the discussions evolve. Some ideas work better than others and some ideas are not really what LFS is about, hence not all ideas even make it to this log. And eventually LFS users do not decide what will and will not be in LFS, the developers do.

Yes, this unofficial list, devs have nothing to do with this list, except for making the ideas come true. I'll update this about monthly with all the ideas I consider worthy of LFS and try to give the ideas fair rating based on general opinion.

All suggestions are rated:
- = Idea or feature considered bad for LFS or not possible/feasible to implement.

Every time I update this, I'll color code the most recently added ideas in red color. Suggestions that have been implemented are in silver color.

You can never know what is really wanted. For example there are some pretty crazy suggestions posted that get a lot of support. Best just to leave it as a list and let the members make their own minds up. It could be a lot of work for you to maintain this list so don't get to complicated with it or you may never leave this place.

With the rating system and links to the thread I no longer have the slightest problem with the list Great work, and it'll help us, and newbies, see what has been suggested before, and an at-a-glance method of seeing what the opinions overall are on such matters

I just gave it a positive rating because I have hardly seen any comments against them. They are generally wanted like the karts too, which I guess won't be seen in LFS. There are a lot things in the list, and I guess even some of the +marked won't make it to S3.

I would really not want to debate with these ratings because it is very hard to assume if the suggestion is going to make it to LFS anyway. They are just there to tell people if these may be sometime considered to be implemented in LFS.

To make it clear:

What XCNuse is saying is that NOS and 'Push to Pass' are completely different systems and should be seperate suggestions, NOS is injecting nitrous oxide into the fuel mixture. Push to pass usually means a button with a limited time per race of either a raised rev limiter or turbo.

LFS Improvements
nice work hyperactive good list, i cbf reading all of ur suggestions, so i might repeat some ... lol

changing weather, maybe even during a race..

with the Gti's should not be allowed to run hybrid tyres on a road track(WR with Gti on blgp track is with hybrid tyres)... if u permit raining conditions, u shouldnt be allowed to have wet weather tyres on a dry track (would give more grip in the slower classes)

roll up laps...(rolling starts)


have go karts as a class...(i race them so that would be cool )

debris on track eg. parts from other cars, leaves, sand/dust, oil maybe...

somehow find a way to fix those wierd crashes... lol

engine blow ups from over revving, mechanical failures... stuff like that

have a controlled trye for all classes, one brand, and one compound so we have no tyre advantages...

introduce 1week (or so) suspensions from delibrate contact, not respecting other racers/flags...

Well, sorry to say but the whole point of the list is that people would read it before posting any new suggestions. (You could have done it too) I'll double check my list soon, but it seems all your ideas are in the list.

I'd really not like to comment any ideas, because this thread is not meant for that, but limiting hybrid tyre from being used on tarmac tracks is not the cure. The cure is to improve the physics and tire model. There is a thread about it at: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=2500

The GTIs should not be able to have rain tires seeing as they don't use them in reality.

I would say this isn´t a big thing to programm.
What do you mean exactly? Country flag with the name over the car, or country flag in the ''n'' list? I'm not sure for a flag over the car, but it would be very nice to have it in the ''n'' list. Great idea, and must be pretty easy to do for Scawen (test patch!!! )
Well, the suggestion "National flags to race results" is pretty close as it would be obvious to make the flag shown next to player's name in all occasions. Made a little correction to it though
maybe the devs could rate it?
The countryflag in the "n" list would be enough. The flag over the cars would be bothering imo.

The name tags are suggested (well, in my humble opinion...) to be like this:
- The way they do it in FIA GT
- Another way
- This is how it could be done in player's car

And the menus:
- The n-list
- The finish list

These show the ways I'd do it, but I really don't know if there are issues don't allow this (like coding and incompatibility)... If it will be in LFS, they will tell us. And there are problems regarding them, but I really don't want to go that deep...

PS. and don't worry, the pics are from online races but the name of the innocent have been edited. That's why my name is still there though And please don't notice that error in "The finish list". There is one flag too much

ghost cars to chase in hotlaps...
hi
i have recently been doing a lot of hotlapping for the olfsl ..
and spend a lot of time trying to work out were i am slowest and need to improve.. ( no scarky comments plz )
anyway the best game i have ever seen for this was SEGA RALLY.
dont know if any of you youngersters will remember it but it was excellent when it first came out and is still very playable now ..

any way in there hotlap type mode, you could race against a ghost car of the fastest lap or other player you wanted to beat..
this was excellent as it not only makes hotlapping less boaring, but lets you see were they are quicker than you..
if it could be done so you could download the lap of your choice by whoever and then run against a ghost car of them while setting your own time, as i remember the ghost car started a flying start as your car crossed the start finish line, so you both start togther......

ho well thats my thought anyway hope you like it ....
