That was the MRT6 IIRC, where LFS was used to test wings. It was never released to the public and the car was never built with wings. Either the MRT6 or MRT7 added an undertray. The new MRT8 looks very impressive, lighter and way more powerful than the MRT5 we get to play with.

i dont think so, but they tested them and they didnt do much at such a low speed

Nope, you just need a good justification or something like that to explain it to the jury. And it's hard to find a justification for a wing with such tiny, light racecars made for autocross at low speeds.

yeah, they dont achive extreme speeds on those tracks for wings to add a decent downforce - so MRT's decided they didnt need wings on that

In FSAE, wings can even make you slower. The car is bigger which is bad in slaloms, heavier, more expensive and the tyres might not even like/need the (very small) downforce either.

You don't need to justify wings to the judges in FSAE; they are perfectly legal in the rules. As others have said, the drag and weight penalties incurred from just having the wings outweigh the benefits; unless designed correctly I read an article about FSAE A few months ago; there was one team who has 3 guys working soley on the wing design, and it did work out beneficial for the car; they were actually quite suprised at the performance increases.

It's all a matter of design, and quite frankly, well designed wings will impress the judges a helluva lot more than just simply not using them because you don't feel like trying to make them work for you.
