Was thinking the same thing! MotoGP is by far the most exciting and competitive top level motorsport.

hmm, there's a pattern emerging.

I don't know if I have a favourite 4-wheel sport. 5 years ago I might have said WRC, but that's gone to hell. DTM is rarely as exciting as it should be. WTCC is good, close racing, BTCC is close racing, I hate A1GP, it's such a disappointment. GP2 is great sometimes, but I don't usually make the effort to watch it.
I think I actually enjoy watching lower level stuff more than the top level, Caterham Euro series, Clio Cup, but then again I haven't missed an F1 race this season, so I guess I must like that too, at least a bit.

NASCAR; Not because it's oval racing, but because of all the bull that surrounds it. I want racing, not a damned soap opera.

Oval racing. Used to love it, and I do go to the Saturday night stuff at the Mosport oval from time to time, but I prefer the road course (and rally) racing.

I watch when it's on, and if there's nothing better to watch:
CCWS, WRC, WTCC, GP2, other racing on 4 wheels.

Hate:
Anything on 2 wheels. Never liked it.

In order of interest for watching on TV:
-Any form of Superbike/Supersport racing(World, British, AMA, etc.)
-WRC.
-Some forms of street racing.
-125cc class, MotoGP.
-V8 Supercars.
-250cc class, MotoGP.
-MotoGP.
-D1GP.
-Touring cars.
-Openwheel racing.

Hate to watch on TV:
-Oval racing.
-Drag racing.

My reasoning:

The closest racing is to be had only on closely-matched machines. MotoGP is fun to watch, but was frustrating this year for much of the year if you exclude the rounds with Melandri, Rossi, Capirossi, etc. fighting it out. (Rossi didn't win the title, but Hayden didn't deserve it after all of Rossi's bike trouble). I like close car racing, but close bike racing is 100x more interesting.

WRC is fun because they go at insane speeds off-road that I wouldn't even dare on pavement. F1 is similar in that the cars are never close to eachother

Moral issues aside, I find some street racing is fascinating to watch.

Oval racing and Drag racing CAN be fun to watch if you actually go to the events, but they're plain dull if you watch them on TV.

The only series I'm not interested in are GT/ALMS/Le Mans etc. and of the ones I watch I like GP2 and MotoGP the most. And F1 sometimes but it manages to piss me off quite often.

Don't have any cabel sports channels so F1, WRC and MotoGP have been pretty much the only ones that get live coverage but Racing Underground (torrents) has helped a lot. And F1 is going to be pay-tv here next year so hooray...

- today's WRC. It's shit. In the few past years rallying has become sprint rallying or something. But what's the most important thing that it's just lacking the competition! This season has been the crappiest and most boring ever, I thought it can't get any more boring than it already was but now that Loeb is missing, it really set a new level or dullness. With the private teams has just no chance and without DNFs there is only possible winner. Cars are boring in a way that 30 years old rwd historic Escort looks more spectacular on a rally stage to watch at than modern WRC, at least the Escort goes sideways. Also the TV coverage here in Finalnd is boring which doesn't help much. And the fact that there are only 3 factory teams must tell that rallying has been f*cked up. Well done, FIA... I think the main problem is that FIA wants rallying to be "cool" to get wider audience but basicly it just isn't mainstream sports. I want back the long stages and cars that goes sideways with less electronic driving assistance.

ps. FIA GT is getting f*cked up soon also, heard about the new amazingly stupid regulations for season 2007? Races will be reduced from 3 hours to 2 hours. I just want to ask that how endurance is 2 hours race?
