RTX Remix is coming, what do you think about a test on lfs?

Nothing stopping you from doing it yourself

Last year I tried it, but I could only get it to work playably on S1 0.3H7, so I'm going to test it with the most up-to-date RTX Remix to see if it works on current versions of LFS.

Any updates on this?

I tried, but couldn't make it to work with the latest version of LFS - it doesn't even start.

Chances are some changes have to be made to the game itself for it to work. For reference:



RTX Remix, from what I understand, works best on old games, not so much on newer games.

Yes, it was exactly this video that made me think about LFS, but as far as I understand LFS uses shaders (shader-based APIs for rendering?) and not fixed-function pipeline and thats one of the biggest issues with RTX Remix.

I got RTX remix "going", but the rendering pipeline in-game is odd. Most lighting is static so went unchanged. tach/speedo went blank since it couldn't render to the texture. The only change i saw was smoother shadowing on wheels/tires. At the expense of dropping performance to 20-30fps on a 4080.

In the current version of LFS, I couldn't get it to work. I tried the S2 F2 version that I still had installed, but I didn't get much better results than in the video I posted earlier. For some reason, everything has a bluish tint and a strange "shadow," making the textures look different when they're near the car. Later, when I have more time, I'll try to figure out how to use it better.
