Qualifying Result

The familiar environment of Aston circuit played to the strengths of other championship contenders not named Suforr - Team Winner's Dodlslaw grabbed pole position ahead of RP's Tj and the championship leader, Born2Race's Suforr. A notable return to Layout Racing League was Race Green's Rony, who outqualified his team mate Redbot to take 5th. A total of 11 drivers qualified, with 17 taking the grid.

Official Race result

The race

The start was reminiscent of a drag race, with the top 4 jockeying for position to Turn 2 hairpin. Abeam the sector 2 split it was Suforr who grabbed the lead ahead of TJ, after many quick lead changes down the front and back straight. Suforr would be entangled in a lead battle with Tj and subsequently Dodlslaw to the finish, taking 2nd on the line however finishing officially 3rd after penalties.

A few places back, Race Green's Redbot had leapfrogged his team mate Rony after a good start, however great tire management and a clean stint saw Rony take back position. M@CI3K was embroiled in a battle with a few newcomers, such as Bence, Flyaway and Kubzz, all giving him a run for his money. M@CI3K would finish a respectable 6th after avoiding a spin from Sodlier late in the race.

Back at the front, Tj was defending the lead after sneaking by Suforr, unfortunately on Lap 3 a backmarker, MagicDann lost control at the Banana chicane and took Tj out with him - causing damage. Tj would eventually recover to finish 5th, free from penalties; however the pace should have seen him challenge for the win.

A few troubles in the mid pack saw spins by Awsk and Flyaway after contact, taking the former out of the race, while a late race fumble by Suforr saw both leaders spin off, with Dodlslaw able to recover to take the lead and finish there by the end - however relegated to 2nd after penalties for car contact.

As the chequered flag fell, and drivers took to the podium, the official results for the action packed race saw Race Green's Rony take his first race win in Layout Racing League after a quiet but focused drive. Dodlslaw and Suforr had to settle for 2nd and 3rd after their paint-rubbing out front, with Redbot in 4th ahead of Tj. Newcomer driver Bence took 7th ahead of Flyaway, Soldier and Kubzz, rounding out the top 10.

Layout Racing League heads to the equally fast-paced Glendane Park on 26 April 2025 for Round 7! Stay tuned for the race report for that event!
