after flashing cmos i now have duffed install of zone alarm that i cant uninsstall and cant instal over the top. Also my internet conecti9on keeps droping out after ten mins and i have to reboot computer to get it back.

really amd stuck now and i dont know what to do any help please would be nice

If you can't uninstall it, just end all the zonealarm process, delete all the files in the program folder, and run something like RegScrub to clear the registry out. Also ZoneAlarm leaves an Internet Logs folder in Windows you can get rid of too.

why carnt you uninstall it? what is it doing?/saying?


conection loss..

are you on dial up or DSL/CABLE, if your on DSL/CABLE sounds like a USB problem to me if your modem/router is hooked up via USB...

so if your inet conectin is USB check the bios and make sure there are know silly options set.....

if you really want to to make sure you have RESET the board, power of from the mains but still pluged in , open her up and remove the battery, then remove the power lead from the pc, leaver for about 30 mins to be sure pop your lead back in then pop the battery back in and start up....

as for the ZA not uninstaling we need to know what its doing or saying

In order to protect our software client from being tampered with, we sign our dll’s. Every time a dll is loaded, we check if it has our certificate.

In order to do certificate checking, the machine needs to have a root certificate on it. If the root certificate in missing, we can’t validate the dll and the client will not start.

We have determined that on systems with a validation error the root certificates were missing.

This doesn't solve the problem but don't use ZoneAlarm. It simply sucks and it has many very odd problems (for example once it lagged my mouse in HL1 mods - after exiting ZoneAlarm the problem also disappeared, this was just ONE example of those problems with the program).

I recommend Kerio Personal Firewall (2.1.5).

thanks m8 your a star only time will tell if it has sorted the internet problem but it looks good .

Try sygate for a firewall, I have been using for years

Zone Alarm Pro works just fine. So does Sygate, Kerio.....many to choose from, just stay away from anything with "Norton" in the title unless you really hate your PC.

well for me zonealarm has been fine till i flashed the cmos/bios so i think i just stick with that for now

i work in a internet cafe / computer shop lol we know all about norton and macafee both no go area as far as we r concerned.
