It's great to see the progress, it feels like all this sparked new motivation into the dev team. South City became a massive "map", and considering it's a fictional location it's even more impressive to put everything together in a way that "makes sense". Congrats.

Night lightning look fantastic.

Good luck guys and thank you for the update.
Nice to read this news Smile All S3 licensed wait big update Smile i saw Volkswagen flags ...
Man.. watching the game of your childhood become something like this is really touching. Thanks to the dev team, excited to hear any more news!
it is a huge update~~~
would you upload the new track map to let us see how big the ner South City is?
Amazing stuff.

I'm really curious about that tyre physics.
I can't tell you guys how much I appreciate your continued work on this masterpiece of a game.
Very pleased to see tracks being updated, and the software too.

Would be great to see parts of smaller, traditional English towns, with narrow streets, to train finer maneuvering, like for real-life driving. Smile

Wow. Pretty impressive.

You can do that with cones, and even without a good reason for them to be there, it's still perfectly realistic for the locale Wink

Stunning work Scawen, Eric, as always. I'm just discovering LFSRecord currently, so shout out to Victor too Wink
Soon lfs will replace GTA5.

Looking forward to it!
This all looks SO good Wink

Quote from Degats :Obligatory (many are quite useless with all the new areas)

Thanks for doing these again, always great to see the changes.

for racing events this would be important!
The last events were often divided into 2 and 3 servers.

Wouldn't multiple servers be better? Especially if they were divided by lap times or something? Give everyone closer/better racing.
Maybe Scawen might want to look at this: BeamNG Tire Physics Changes Devblog

I've been doing some driving / testing and I clearly see the LFS's superiority in tire physics. On other hand BeamNG suspension system feel more alive and sophisticated. Shrug
BeamNG is great for what it does, but I agree with your opinion.

I'm no tire physics expert (at all!) but feel BeamNG does standard road cars very well - which translates to slower speeds, more noticeable suspension movement and weight transfer.
It's obviously best in class for its damage model.

Track and race cars show the limitations of it's tire model though, and even though 0.21 was a great improvement, its still a way behind specialist racing sims.

But, I accept that.

BeamNG will never do racing like LFS, and LFS will never do damage like BeamNG.

Edit - this is an interesting video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jexzs0F_wIc
BeamNG has really come a long way from being mostly about soft-body physics to being a sophisticated driving simulator with huge detailed maps. Unlike most sims it makes road car driving enjoyable, something that I have always loved about LFS, too. Another welcome alternative in the otherwise stale GT-car centered driving sim environment.
If only it supported VR natively Frown
Automation and BeamNG is very similar (but more complete) to the LFS and tweak combo, I wish LFS devs could implement something equivalent with better and seamless integration to the probable modding tool, this could open endless possibilities.

I get the idea that's the plan in the future.
