Pitting rules:

Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time,which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).
Important - to avoid incidents,drivers have to join pitlane before entry of last oval turn! Failing to do so will reward with 10s post race penalty,more if it leads to an incident.

The start of the 2021 RTFR XL year was opened in the Kyoto's "roval" configuration using the classic front engined rear wheel drive sports car XRT. As expected the attendance was increased thanks to SimBroadcasts promotional work,but also full grids were never expected as the combo turned out to be somewhat challenging. Best proof of that is the absence of 4 drivers,who qualified,but never tried to start the race.

This combo was picked by winner of last year's final race winner R.Kardol and seeing his performance,it was obvious why the choice was made - he was fastest in both sessions and did not led just 2 laps of the race. R.Kardol scored for himself 3rd racewin,3rd pole position,2nd fastest lap of the race and 16th top5 finish (tied 2nd most),which puts him in 4th place in all time success ranking of RTFR XL. 2nd over the finish line was driver,who likes to change his name every race,so let's call him mr.Randomname - he earned his 3rd top5 finish here,and he was relatively closely followed by J.Katila in 3rd position,which is his new best finish result in RTFR XL,also 3rd top5 finish for him. 4th was Ayoub Maroc repeating the better result of his 2 previous finishes and top5 was closed by Mandula,also scoring his 3rd top5 finish.

* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
The january races of previous 2 years were part of the yearly standings champion Botsi's 3 race winning streaks. This year it's part of an active 2 race winning streak of his teammate R.Kardol. Is this a sign of things to come?

* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
For the 2nd race in row the usual clock pitter was beaten by the event organizer,who took pitstop after 1st lap again - 10.15 seconds was the shortest work free pitstop in this race. Mandula did made a shorter pitstop,just 0.01s slower than the perfect one,but he did refuel.

* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
Doni started from 19th position and was able to gain a total of 6 positions during the race to finish 13th - best climb in his achievements from this race.

* HONORABLE MENTION :
Unite was the only who was able to challenge R.Kardol for race win,he even overtook him twice to score 2 lead laps,but things started to go south in his pitstop,which was too short. That probably had a huge influence on his focus as his race ended with car's wheels pointing towards sky 9 laps later.

In 4 week the extended RTFR version will return and the combo has been decided - the half century race will make UF1 the most selected car in this event series,as it is picked for the 5th time (coincidentally to make exactly every 10th race on average). The selected track is the classic Fern Bay's configuration named Gold. But already next week there will be 2 races hosted by Race Green Events - on monday AWS will finish the 1st half of it's 2021 season in Rockingham's oval and on tuesday the next normal version of RTFR is scheduled. More information on the latter will be posted in weekend,but regular broadcasting viewers should be informed about the combo.
