LFS 0.6N T500RS No FFB
Hi all,

Had an issue since I reinstalled lfs in its latest version.
My wheel is correctly detected by the game, I can assign all binds as I want, calibration is ok.
But when launching the game, I have no feedback at all. Rotation works correctly, pedal set too, shifter too.

Check my Thrustmaster control pannel settings, all ok (900°,60% overall, 100/100/0/0).
I remembered I used about 30-40% in game strenght setting, tried 100, nothing happened.

Firmware and drivers are up to date. System is 8.1 Pro x64.
And my wheel works correctly with all sims (ac, ams, r3e, dirt rally, rf2..).

Already tried a full uninstall/clean/install (of the game)process, same result.
Tried to unplug the wheel, start the game, plug the wheel. Unplug the wheel, reboot computer, plug the wheel.
Tried almost all the ways I could.
I passed the last fews days digging the web to find a solution, so if there's a magician somewhere, or I'm too blind to the see the issue in front of me so point it at me please ! Smile

Thank you and have a good day !Smile
bump ?
In options - steering - Is "Force feedback" set to "yes" ?

Try to press when on track: shift+C = restore controllers

try different USB port
Hi Gutholz, thank you for your answer.

For the ffb option, sure it was enabled Wink
Other Usb port already tested.

I'll try the Shift+C bind, it may be the magic trick.

Cheers.
Same problem with T150... latest drivers, latest LFS, working on other sims (rFactor), no FFB on LFS...

Win 8.1 + T150

Try change Input when window is inactiwe to YES or NO ffb should be work after this
Tried...
In LFS/data/misc are the controller configuration files, ending in .con. Try removing/renaming them so that when LFS starts, it creates a new one for your controller.

Also have this issue, T300RS - FFB worked fine till I updated / re-installed from scratch.
What happens if you try SHIFT+C in game or the refresh button at the top of the screen in Options - Controls?

Other things to try:

(1) Go to a window (SHIFT+F4) click on another window and back to LFS
(2) Try a different setting for "Input when window is inactive" then (1)

Is there any information about controllers in the deb.log file? You can open it with notepad.

Are there different Thrustmaster drivers? I am trying to understand why it works fine for most people (I think) but some have this problem.
Hi Scawen,

Thanks for jumping on the thread. Answers:

Shift+C does not help (I don't see refresh button...)
Switching windows: When "Input when window is inactive is set to OFF, then switching to another window makes the wheel HARDER, while returning to the LFS makes is light (no feedback/resistence) again. When the setting is ON, switching windows has no effect and its always "light" - no ffb/resistance.

Let me know what other info I can provide
In the 0.6P version, the refresh button is at the top of the screen, to the right of the "mouse / keyboard" button.

It doesn't sound as if it will make any difference in your case.

What do you have "Force strength" set to? (3rd slider down)

EDIT: Your deb.log says you are using 0.6M. It may be worth updating to 0.6P which has some controller improvements. To update, go to multiplayer - list of hosts.
Upgraded to 0.6P

No change.
Refresh does not make a change
Force strength is set to 100

Other ideas?

Is there an option in the wheel software, to enable DirectInput mode?

I'm just wondering if the wheel driver might be set to XInput mode and, in this case, if the way Windows allows LFS to see XInput devices (through DirectInput) does not allow Force Feedback.
Couldn't find such an option in the drivers

FOUND THE PROBLEM!

It was the OC-Guru SW from NVidia. I don't know why this happens, but once I closed it, the FFB is back!

Thanks for all the help, hope someone else also finds it helpful!
Thanks for the info.

I've never heard of such software and still have the issue.

Edit: No I don't, it just magically works again now. Happy days Smile
Thank you rpriscu ! Did not think of that little boy in the corner eheheheh, it causes issue with ams too. Could have make the link but not..
Thank's again !
Cheers !
This is kind of rly old thread but turn off fbb and turn it on again IN LFS that will fix it i had the same problem!
FYI. Another application that will disable FFb in LFS is Overwolf (included with teamspeak).
