The online racing simulator
[ADVICE] Alienware X51 gaming machine
Hi All,

Looking to purchase a new gaming PC, preferably prebuilt and nothing overly expensive!

I wouldnt say by any means that I am a hardcore gamer but I do have an interest in MS FlightSimulatorX.

Also, I'm not the most technical when it comes to specs etc.

Please see specs below:

-Intel® Core™ i3-6100 (3M Cache, 3.70 GHz) Processor

-Windows 10 Home

-8GB Memory

-NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 745 with 4GB DDR3

Look forward to getting your opinions on this!

Thanks,
Kevin
Quote from [RCG]Boosted :Are PC's in general expensive over there or is it just because its Alienware?
Have a look here... http://www.custompc.ie/amd-fx-quad-core-black-edition-gaming-desktop-pc-133813-p.asp
Better Pricing imo.

With 8 GB ram (which is needed) its at 600€.

Thanks for your reply, greatly appreciated!

No particular reason why I looked at Alienware, looked like a tidy piece of kit for the price but saying that i don't know to much about gaming pc's specs etc.

The link you shared looks quite interesting! thanks for that

Kevin
Hm, the graphic card on that PC is listed as "RADEON R7 250 2GB"
It is bit bad about the site that they do not give more detail about the components in PC. Or maybe I fail to find it.
If you click it on the list then directs to their "video card guide" and there is not much info either: http://www.custompc.ie/video-card-guide-3-w.asp
Also the picture there is of a card with 1GB memory, not 2GB:

In components store they also have this card, maybe it it this one then:
http://www.custompc.ie/sapphire-2gb-radeon-r7-250-boost-236716-p.asp

However, both cards have no display-port, they have only: HDMI , VGA & DVI
If you maybe want to connect three screens then that will not work, even if the graphiccard has 3 outputs, even with adapters. As soon as you use more than 2 screen at least one monitor must be connected to displayport.

Appreciate the advice Thumbs up

Would you have any other suggestions in terms of gaming PC's? Ideally looking at a prebuilt system.
Well best thing to do would be in Fact to build it yourself.
Since its Idiot Proof (every part only fits in one particular Spot) and there are Guides for Beginners i would give it a Shot.
That way you will get a much better System.
For Example my current Rig (700€):

CPU: AMD FX 8350 8x 4.00 GHZ
Ram: 8GB (2x 4096MB) G.Skill RipJawsX DDR3-2133
PSU: 630 Watt be quiet! (OP i know...but prepared for Upgrades!)
HDD: 240 GB Kingston SSD
Mainboard: Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0 AMD 970 So.AM3+
GPU: 2048MB KFA2 GeForce GTX 960 Black Edition
And a Budget PC Case for about 40€.

If you buy a System like this pre-build, you will end up with a Bill up to 1000€.

There are just 2 Things to note...do not use heavy Force and be sure that you are not static charged (sp? Big grin).

I could even give you a helping hand picking out the right Parts if you are up for it.
