Pretty good racing. Just wish it had a actual pitlane so we could do competitive pit stops.
I will admit I was somewhat happy with the racing last night, once the track got rubbered up they actually got going which was nice to see. Wanted to see Larson win it, he definitely had the best truck, there was just no way to pass with those cautions at the end getting him stuck on the bottom every restart. I do not like the Dillon boys and was super pissed they basically handed that win to Austin with a perfectly timed caution. I was also really disappointed with Bloomquist's run, thought he'd be up near the front but he was an absolute mess running without a front sway bar.
yea, Kyle and Ryan were fun to watch though lol.
To be fair at least the debris was actually metal and visible on tv at this race. I thought it would have been ok to let them have at it as their battle was epic as the laps drew out.
Debris shut down that battle and then the end of the second segment shut down another battle. Larson just needed more time to make a pass happen the way the track was and didn't get it. I wasn't a huge fan of that last restart either, sure looked like Dillon went before Larson even got up next to him but he never had a shot on the inside anyway.
The first debris caution timing was utter crap. I have the same opinion as you Benny on who won and who I wanted to win.

The racing was amazing though, hope they do it again.
yea I thought he jumped it too
The racing last night was MUCH better than I expected, and I hope to see a Nationwide race on a high banked dirt track soon, and then the Cup Series if the racing is similar. This is ONLY if a real pit road is constructed or the race moved to a track that does have one. The 150 lap race in segments stuff is crap. Do 150 without segments for trucks and Nationwide and do 300 for a cup race. Solved

Crap caution gave Dillon the lead . Getting more and more fed up with those kinds of debris cautions by the week . All other debris cautions last night I agreed with though
I expected a wreck-a-thon.

I was disappointed by their ability to not wreck.

I was more impressed than anything. I will say, in order to get to the truck series drivers have to have a ton of control. See my comments about the K&N East Series race at Columbus Motor Speedway a week or so ago

It shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did retrospectively. Same with the fact that the racing was good. Low Speeds, no downforce, low grip
On another note Corey LaJoie is now a Petty Developkent driver. Go o same church as his aunt. Nice family.
So, NASCAR's looking to return to Eldora for the truck series next year, but evidently they don't want to move any other series there or to any other dirt track

Yesterday's Nationwide race was a joke as expected.
Having too much of it would be terrible. Look what happened to 1.5 mile tracks.
Great job Newman and the 39 team.
Newman should find a ride before next season strts
Quote from PMD9409 :Great job Newman and the 39 team.

They should thank the 48 crew for the favor lol. Just glad the cheaters didnt win
Thank them for what? Newman would have been ahead after the pit stop even if the 48 crew did a 13 second pit stop.

Edit: Words from Carl after the race:

Quote :CARL EDWARDS, NO. 99 FASTENAL FORD FUSION – “The early part of the race went real well. We had track position. This whole event track position was key. It was very difficult for me to pass people. We lost our track position on the restart and Tony made it four wide. I made the decision to not go down there and wreck everybody and that cost us a lot of track position. We made it back to 13th. I am proud of my guys. They brought a really good race car but we just really struggled on some parts of the track that we don’t normally struggle on.”

WERE YOU WORRIED ABOUT DEBRIS? “Yeah, we had paper on my grille and we couldn’t get that off. Fortunately it didn’t heat up too much so that was good. If I would have had a teammate around, after everything we went through with that before, we would have been fine. It was pretty interesting at the beginning. You were actually driving the race car and dodging the trash out there.” WHAT WAS THE COMPETITION LIKE? “I felt like our competition was really stiff, the guys we were racing against. It was extremely difficult to pass.”

WORSE THAN BEFORE? “Yes, it was really tough. But there were cars that were able to get up front and stay up front. We weren’t able to stay up front so I can’t say that everybody had the same problem but we had a lot of trouble.”

HOW DO YOU FIX IT? WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN? “My opinion is that we saw it Wednesday night. If you are not racing aerodynamic devices and the tire and track can interact so that the car can slide around a little more I think you will see more side by side racing. I have been preaching that a long time. I am not an aerodynamicist, that is just what I see.”

DOES NOT PRACTICING AGAINST ONE ANOTHER IN PRACTICE MATTER? “Here is the thing guys, when you rely on downforce and your car is going 200 mph and everything has to be perfect and there is a car up there in front of you that disrupts that air it just becomes difficult. There were guys back in 2008 where I was the only guy that could pass people. Right now it seems like the 48 is able to make it work. I don’t know that there is a fundamental problem with the car but I would be really curious to see what no front splitter and a really tiny rear spoiler would do. I think it would allow Goodyear to make a tire that is softer so that it would fall off more. I think you would see those great races like we saw at Fontana. That was the track that showed me it isn’t just down force but the way the tire interacts with the race track. That was one of the best races we have ever had.”

Yeah, of course. Maybe 2 or 3 in each series a year (like the road races and plate races).

I completely agree with Edwards, and I think about 90% of the fans do as well. NASCAR almost had the formula right in testing the Gen 6, but they changed it
Just one per serie will do
Rumor mill already starting for Newman, Penske,Roush,RCR, and even MWR.
Mwr prolly be BV, and AD probably in RCR. And if biffle leaves roush, there is some rumors about that but I doubt it.
Quote :FOX & NASCAR just released a statement that says they extended their relationship further than previously reported.

Cup now runs through 2024 and they get 3 more events.

NNS is for the first 14 races of the season through 2024.

Trucks are now extended through 2024.

Some multi-media expansion as well, but it doesn't say much on that topic.

Some highlights of the email:

NASCAR’s media rights package for 2015 and beyond is now complete with FOX Sports holding rights to the first 16 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, first 14 NASCAR Nationwide Series races and entire NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. NBC, which last broadcast NASCAR events in 2006, will televise the final 20 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, final 19 NASCAR Nationwide Series races and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events beginning in 2015.

Little hard to read, but cleans the air on what races/channels are going on in the future.
Well, it's official, BSPN is out . That's a positive... Now what to do about the Waltrip brothers :X
Just seems like a huge step back to me that almost half of FOX's races are getting moved to cable. What do they have on that's better and going to pull in better ratings on the normal FOX channel in that time slot? I just don't get the logic, seems like you're only hurting yourself but I guess it must make them money somehow.

I'm glad the truck series isn't going anywhere, I end up watching more truck races than Nationwide just because they tend to be more interesting. I'm interested to see what NBC sports does with the modifieds, if they give them some decent time slots and maybe even live coverage, I will definitely tune if for their races. Wish they still raced by me but they really scaled their schedule back a couple years ago.
