Can't believe how dated it's starting to look... This was the pinnacle of awesomeness back in the day. Still nothing close to driving feel, though.

Probably best RBR video

Amazing, it does not look old at all. As a Youtube comment says, a game from 2004 is still the king of rally simulation, not easy at all

Quote from AndRand :Don's photos are even better than movies (LFS, RBR) or stills.

Not for games. What amazes us are the physics, which shine on slo-mo videos and is cool on normal videos. On photos we can see cool things, like tyre flex but it won't be as much as impresive as a video could be.

You can find Don's slomo movies from LFS also. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdldZlNDm80
I wanted to mention that he makes professional rally photos.
Ah watching these videos makes me want to install it again!!
Finally managed a clean stage. The sense of achievement is amazing.

The fact it was in a Audi S1 too on Pikes Peak....I may be slow, but I got there
any hint for free video capture software making 8min long clips? (Rally of Japan )
What an awesome video by Don, makes me wanna install RBR again.

You can try Bandicam. I think the free version records up to 10 minutes of video.
thx for that

but apparently I got some problems with sound recording - although all (wave source and master, other muted) is set max it records veeeery quiet.

Regarding the stage - I wonder if anybody is mastering second parts of the stage? You can see sometimes when first is mastered dozillion times (not here ), and the last part soso...
Although with 8minutes it is better to rely on co-driver (but it is hard to set offset for both twisty and uberfast parts).

This is how Noiker should be done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaDDof1qNsU

My own pb is ~7:05. M.Sepp is just insane.
with such long stages I am happy to finish not crashing the car
I heard there's troubles with RBR on Windows 7, BSODs and all, any way around that?
I've never experienced any problems with RBR in Windows 7...
Quote from Boris Lozac :I heard there's troubles with RBR on Windows 7, BSODs and all, any way around that?

FWIW I haven't had any issues on Win7 on my machine... Though I haven't played it much at all on the 'new' computer. (New being a relative term, it's over a year old now...)
Quote from Boris Lozac :Oh cheers... So should i install that RSRBR mod? Have they played god with the physics too much?

If you are interested in new cars, tracks etc then you should get RSRBR, but RBR works well without any addons too.
I haven't got RSRBR installed because I like doing the full championships. I replace the cars manually, though, and then just run the original stages in championship mode. I really wish RBR shipped with twice the stages that it has...

Actually you can use fully functional "normal" RBR if you press "Launch Richard Burns Rally SSE". Then normal RBR will start, with mod and car pack you selected.
