I'm guessing you entered the roundabout, tried to turn and went straight on? How fast was you going when you entered it? Probably a good thing you didn't have your alloys on front either or I imagine they'd have buckled on impact.

I was watching that silly new'ish stunt show or whatever, (think it used to come on directly after our crappy American Top Gear, maybe). They took an old Land Cruiser & did a test running it straight over a large steel I-beam that was bolted to the road, (@ 45mph I believe), wearing tireless rims up front.. first; a set of steelies, then magnesium's, and finally a set of basic alloys. (had tires on rear wheels) As figured the mag's cracked, the steels bent horrendously, and the alloys came out nearly unscathed. I'm not saying the same results would occur against concrete/have no idea really, but was impressed just the same.

Well you see, none of my cars are street-legal at the moment, and it's pretty awesome to roll around in a bus, so I borrow it when he's not using it. I just didn't want to put the pictures, as it's not my car.

the road was a NSL but i saw the roundabout and slowed to 30-35 and just went straight on, not trying to put the blame on anyone else as i was driving but there was a jcb factory just to the right of that picture so i'm guessing the road may of had diesel on.
I use these cars, mostly Toyota, Mercedes is dead after 1500k km and BMW is only for some competitions.

What kind of strange and freakish person buys a sports car with an auto box? Maybe if they where offered an option for a chandelier and leather armchairs they would go for that too.
Finding a R31 is a challenge on it's own, so if it comes with an auto box you don't reject it because of that. Just transfer it to manual...
r31's are dime'a'dozen in australia

its is daily driver for to/from work... his fun car is an FC
that being said he is chucking S13/180 front gear into the 31 for more track and lock and will go manual eventually


also i'd hardly call a boat with an rb30e a sports car..

Looks like youve never done or even seen it done. Cutting it half was just a joke,but u can cut a little off springs,depending on the condition of the shocks
Yep, the shocks also being the upper limit stop is the dangerous thing, the springs can jump out of location if they're to short. Springs aren't rocket science, they aren't full of transistors and exotic materials, it's just basic metallurgy and the only danger is in getting them to hot and annealing them. Not going to argue this point further unless you can also explain the operational difference between a coil spring and a torsion bar, not the linkage but the spring it's self.

It wouldn't surprise me, but obviously without seeing how you took the roundabout it'd be impossible to know, looking at it though, I'd easily say you could take it at 30. Although I know in standard spec my Escort Van would understeer like a bastard at relatively low speeds. I never crashed it though.
Installed my new chrome exhaust, sounds just a tad deeper now.

It goes beyond that. Springs may be fairly basic but they're only a piece of the equation. Cutting them affects more than simply ride height, especially considering the ones that get chopped most often are part of a worn suspension. It's obvious there's no point explaining though, dumbasses will be dumbasses I suppose! (and yes, I've been around it plenty e2mustang)
