Skrillex
yeah, i've heard of them. i stumbled across a couple of their songs while aimlessly browsing youtube. i'm not sure who let them set foot in a recording booth, but they need their brain examined.
I kinda really like Skrillex for some reason :/.
Skrillex is really one of those things you love or you hate. Even some of my friends who enjoy dubstep find his music hard to listen to.

The New York Times also did an article on deadmau5 and Skrillex's performances in NYC this month and I must say that while it was critical of both, the author made a special point to say that Skrillex's set (both music and stage display) seemed like it was a last minute rush job.

P.S. If you go to the concert you will want earplugs unless you want tinnitus. Also, if the concert isn't 18+ or 21+ there will be a staggering number of unavoidable and obnoxious drunk teenagers there.
I've never liked dubstep that much, Skrillex is the nail in the coffin for me...
I hate how dubstep is blown up out of nowhere in the last couple of years, only to be taken on by every indie kid/trend followers out there.

The day Gabber/Terror gets played on mainstream radio is the day i quit raving.
I listen to a lot of dubstep, but the whole Skrillex and all the high pitched screechy noises and stuff that I've been hearing recently just isn't my style. I prefer much more melodic stuff. I'll actually listen to only about 1 or 2 Skrillex songs.

That being said, I had an awesome time when Skrillex played in Detroit (at a festival, there were a lot of other acts I saw too), you don't necessarily have to love the music to get hammered and then have your eardrums blown out as you dance the night away right on the edge of the river in between all the city lights... it was a good time.

EDIT: and yes, if you go, earplugs might be a good idea... I had mine. The bass was brain fryingly loud.
He looks like a bit of a weirdo, but I actually like his music, I purchased 3 of his albums/EP's last year I think, maybe one this year...
Quote from GFresh :He looks like a bit of a weirdo, but I actually like his music

Makes sense.

What does how he looks have anything to do with it?
If you're going to be famous for dumb shit you had better at least be good-looking.
I'm listening his music quite a lot. Depends on my mood, though.
Some of his songs are really good.. Quite a lot of my mates (including me) listen to his stuff
Not the biggest fan of dubstep but the song "kill everybody" is still haunting my ears...in a good way.
Someone call 911!!!!!!
Yessssssss omg
He has a few good songs.

Really the songs that are remixed by another artist with his songs are the best, but he's got a few catchy songs.

His "dubstep" isn't out there are some dubstep.. I too hate how this dubstep crap fell into the world (thanks Europe!) and... it's just noise to me, I can't stand it, especially when the song has a good intro and stuff, and then turns into mush of noise and bass and hats.

Wasn't Skrillex in like Denmark a month or so back? Someone stole his laptop I heard and he had to recreate the entire album he was working on? Not sure if that's true, I never read it, just a friend told me.

But what bugs me most is.. I've been listening to electronic since 2000 (maybe a bit earlier than that) so now it's funny when everyone is like OMMMMGGGZZZZ TECHNO!!!! .. I hate the word techno for electronic music, it sounds retarded. Dubstep isn't helping, it has brought a few good things to music, but not much else.
That and other friends that are like.. electronic/techno/trance/dubstep music is the BEST.. yet I can probably ask 99.999% of them who people like Paul Oakenfold is, ATB, Benny Bennassi, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, Armin Van Buuren.. and out of that list they MAY know who David Guetta is (since he is still around and has a few remixes that are up there every now and again)
but.. it's .. stupid.

It's just annoying when people are like I love electronic music and have for a long time now.. My response always is.... Oh yeah? Really? How long lol... I've been listening to it for majority of my life. When I first started listening to music besides what my mom played in the car it's been electronic music.
He is horrible.

The end.
hahaha at people qualifying his output as "songs"
I quite like it! Pretty decent "song".
I just hate dubstep. For me, it's not even music. Same with Skrillex. He has talent, but daamn I hate dubstep.
Remember when dubstep was pretty much 100% associated with Kode9 and his crew? Those were the good old days.

Burial is still the best thing to come out of the whole "movement."
I do enjoy his music, along with the whole dubstep genre. Sounds nice with a giant subwoofer, too.

That's because most 'dubstep' I hear being put out now is almost an entirely new genre... there are good songs out there that don't descend into screams and noise.

here, maybe you'll be more taken with something in this. Some new, some older, some heavy, some soft, some popular, some not. all really different:

If not, oh well, I tried People like different music, can't really change that. If you don't like anything in there, then dubstep probably isn't for you.
It's not bad.
