Can you break 1:14:00 with this setup?
This is my FBM Blackwood setup.

My current PB is 1:14:07, and I am starting to think that maybe this setup can't go any faster.

Could I please ask people to try this setup and see if you can break 1:14.

If so could you please post the replay so I can see how you did it!

Thanks in advance!

I doubt it's the setup, I do faster then that on a stock setup, and I'm not a racer at all.
Depends on what he's using too tho.
Great thanks for that.

Looks like you are sliding it a lot more than I do.

Need to stay in 4th for turn 6 as well which I haven't been doing...
The sets sucks, understeers way too much.

Way to go mate. Just trash his set and don't even offer any advice or help. Hope you ego got a big boost from that.

Real reason why most people drive slowly is that they accelerate much too late because of their driving lines. Try driving more aggressively (having a car that oversteers a bit does help in that) but remember that if you're sliding in the corner you're also not gaining any speed. I suggest you try to keep your tires from sliding and by trial and error learn where you can hit the gas without ending up in the grass once you're lines are looking similar than faster drivers'.

Now, if you want to change how your car handles in the corners the easiest way is to chance wing values. The more wing you have in front means the more you have downforce in front thus making your car more aggressive. The more wing you have in rear means exactly the opposite. You do need wing in rear too to keep your tires from sliding in corners or worse, your car spinning once you hit the accelerator in corner.

Hope that helped.

There are a couple of different ways just to reduce understeer.
It doesn't just mean his set should be thrown out.
Aero adjustments should not be considered a band-aid for poor handling, though. A good, balanced suspension setup* is key to proper handling, especially at lower speeds.

*not too soft, not too stiff, maybe a slight bias toward understeer or oversteer based on driver preference, plus reasonable damper rates based on spring rate and driving style requirements. Bob Smith's VHPA can help a lot with determining an appropriate spring rate (based upon the desired frequency) and the critical damping rate.

That's how I tune my setup as well, the handling is great and seems a lot less other-worldish than some of the WR setups.

Even though they may be slower in an absolute way, I think they stick more to real life setups.
Well I did it!

1:13:82. In the end the difference was made up hitting the apex on the last corner better, and I think I was short shifting a lot of the time!

(rainspecialist) DELETED by Bob Smith : pointless bump
I almost broke the 1:14 mark but just i made 1:14.45
Otherwise the setup is great :clapclap: :clapclap:
Nice work

I am consistently getting 1:13's with it now so the problem was me!

I really like this set too though. Most others oversteer for me but this is perfect.
Now drive on a proper S2 track
