Quote from samjh :Great vid.

A more modern video though; Sebastian Vettel in his pole lap at Albert Park yesterday. Watch for the handful of oversteer in the last corners! Fabulous.

Download it before Bernie's copyright army take it down.

One thing that always gets me, Why do they all not go as tight as possible around the long left hander before the fast left right chicane in S2?
to reduce steering angle and thus less friction.
but they produce enough downforce and grip for friction to not be an issue on a corner like that surely?
grip and downforce has nothing to do with it, you steer more, you create more friction and that has effect on the acceleration, no matter how much grip you have.
More downforce and grip will increase the friction of a tighter line anyway.
Like Brundle said, they take the "line of least-resistance".

No other way to explain it really.

That shot at 0:37 is breathtaking

Wow... simply epic. That's how EVERY race should be, from regional touring cups to Formula 1: in the real world.
