Quote from Framaris :Nope it isn't, but like I said I bet if we restrict both XRT and FXO to RB4 level it will be RB4 race only....but it could be an idea

Nothing wrong with that.

Nah, I see your point.
ok, I had to go way around - get text with commas, change commas to colons... still Excel best times (minimums) rounds to seconds

Diagram on averages (difference between average time with this car to average time on this track)

I think you are forgetting something about the TBO class, now mind you that i havent really raced to much in this class due to it not being very popular. But its defenetly my favourite class!

What i was on about whas that you are forgetting something important while comparing times and performance. Drivability and tirewear! IMO with my somewhat limited experience(ive done some 45min races) ive come to the following conclusion.

FXO: Fast but hard to drive and eats front tires
RB4: Slow and heavy but easy to drive and has more options to tweak.
XRT: is like FXO but i feel somewhat easier to control, its like between FXO and RB4.

This means that the RB4 could verywell be successful in an endurance race where tirewear and stability matters alot. Ofcourse the FXO can maintain its tires and still be fast in a race, just it depends alot more on the driver.

Im not Sure or you are correct here..
Me personal is not a good xrt driver, and if you ask
me the fxo is much better on the Tyres then the xrt, if ask me on the end of the day it all comes down on the setup again! With the fxo you can have heating setups and balanced setups. Same as for the xrt.

The only problem why people are getting hot tyres in the fxo is when the are creating understeer, This is where the tempertures is coming from ( like most of you know ). I'm having a lot good fxo that you can drive for laps after laps without any problem.

The only thing that Im trying to say In this post, that I think that the cars (fxo 3%) are very good ballanced, I believe that the car that's driven the most is the quickest car, mainly because of the setups.

Like you can see in the previus posts in this threat, the rb4 is not bad it's only underused compared to the other two.

Saying this the stats that are posted above are not 100% accurated becuar if you look at the amound of uploads / wr records you will find that the fxo and xrt have got way more....

Hope you see what I mean

I disagree about the RB4 and tyrewear. When its tyres heat up too much the car understeers like a pig which in turn heats up the tyres even more making the understeer even worse, etc. It's the worst on tracks with long fast sweeping corners like KY3 and WE. From my experience XRT in nicest to the tyres.
But RB4 can be FWD or RWD of you want it to, so it should be easier to setup for each type of track.

But yeah i agree, XRT on fast tracks where keepeing the ass in control is easier, is probably the nicest to the tires. But then the FXO still pulls away since its faster... and a good driver probably maintains the FXO tires aswell. On slow twisty tracks the difference gets smaller IMO, like south city... The RB4 has its advantage that if setup properly you can be pretty harsh on the gas early in a corner, while the XRT goes all D1gp and FXO fries the front wheels.

But i do believe that in the end it depends more on the driver and his/hers preferences and drivingstyle. Some people want that RWD to be fast, some rely alot on FWD and left foot braking to reach amazing results.
Xrt cos i can driftzzzz

WOW almost 200 voters in 5 days, I am impressed, thx for taking the time guys!
Vote will not close, so keep voting and sharing if you haven't done it yet!

I guess this poll is slowly showing what I was expecting, with most voters being occasional TBO racers or event's fans.
This explains the ups and down and the reason why you don't see many busy TBO servers.
So we can accept it or we can start a crusade to convert those casual racers in to real TBO freaks like us!

Personally I came quite late to TBO, but since I started I got heavily addicted to the wtcc racing style, nothing better after a long working day than exchanging some paint with your friends...
Have a little better ability to handle TBOs rather than the GT 4 now
I now really fancy the FOX and the FZR and such.

Going back to TBO's is AMAZINGLY difficult.
you lack LOADS of grip and power.

It is fun though, but somehow I prefer FOX junkies server above the (always populated) TBO+a lot server
I'm still hooked to this class of car, although I did recently enjoyed the GT2 Class, Which for myself was quite an odd experience.
Back to TBO though. There was some nice racing tonight at Fern Bay Green for 40 minutes and one last punishing lap at R4R TBO Server A full grid just about again managed to turn out too
And the XRT won, finally.
xrt ftw
Love TBO and the XRT, but most of the time, the races are filled with FXO's making it pretty boring for me by the time the last remaining laps come by because the FXO's tires are all done for.
I am definitely faster in the FXO than any other TBO car, Although I enjoy driving the XRT more simply because it feels better and more rewarding when you win a race in it..

XRT is also great fun for drifting.

RB4 on the other hand.. Too slow and heavy feeling for my liking.
FXO - its nice control in Oval especially in the last corner of the Oval which doesn't eat the speed to lower than XRT but its quickly to get hotter and hotter when it comes to the tight corners because of being FWD.

RB4 - Just comfortable in Rally Cross tracks coz of being AWD, driftz, although its heavy I can pass through XRT with a good setup

XRT - It's comfortable when racing or being sprint driver although its tail risk of being first run but its quite easy to control and I love it

RAC - People you have forgotten RAC is a Turbo car too..although its hard to control even I setup my good setup on it but it suddenly spuns when you steer it wrong. its good for drifting especially doing ARAB drift.
Did someone say LRF?
Nice to see this topic back to actuality!

I am trying my best to avoid TBO atm, been sooo addicted I don't know how to drive other cars any more ....

Of course it is impossible for me to stay away for long, TBO offered me the most intensive races I ever had in LFS, so it is a bit like a drug you can't give up completely...and I love TBO ppls!

I think sprint racing is not really the best way to enjoy TBO, first 10 laps are too often hell on the tires side, but they are lovely after 15 laps and even better after 1:30h...we've tried 24h in June, loved it, so I am thinking about doing more endurance with them now and maybe organize some!
I voted Occasional Sprinter, 2 times a week or less.

Yes I agree !

An endrurance league with TBO would be awesome.
We have always GTR ! or GT2 and even GT3 maybe in moe now....
But still GTR.

Something like MOE with TBO will be GOOD !

Would be interrested for sure

Quote from Worm :Something like MOE with TBO will be GOOD !

I've been thinking for a long time already about a multi-class endu league with TBO/LRF. Would be a blast IMO!

IMO it's a real shame that most people think endu means GTR on LFS. And the worst part is that I'm sure most of them just didn't have had a real go at road car endu yet.

And then everyone(more or less) complains about the lack of content when some potentially very interresting combos are left unused...
+1 :d
TBO @ short to medium tracks for 4 hour races? I'd race it.

Also just for laughs, a 24 hour race at FE1 would be nearly 2000 laps. That's insanity.
I would be the only person in an RB4 .

What kind of TBO driver are you?
