i would be angry too if half the servers are cruisers and the other half drifters.
The racing ones are all empty. I would be pissed too. So, come back 2005, you were a good year.
I didn't read most of the thread, but I agree with TVE. Even in the [relatively] small amount of time I've been here I've seen a big difference in the general posting habits.
Just woken up. Here is my final thought.

Like 5haz said, there is very little we can do. Forums and Internets in general will always have idiots and wannabe hards, who think acting like a arse is cool.

I have been lurking around these forums since late '05 in the demo days, yes I have seen a change in the community and general state of the Forums. Was it for good? Yes and No.

New users both have their ups and downs. I can name quite a few people from these forums who have joined 07-08 that are an absolute blast to chat with and mess around from time to time, however, I can also name a lot of wankers....

Its the nature of how socialising of any sort over the internet works. You have the normal people and the ****s. Sadly there isn't a lot you can do about them.

Cruising & Drifting is a bot offtopic in this thread i guess. About cruisers, drifters or those - i just dont give a *meep*. Its a game, with more than 1 way to entertain people. I like them all, but at drifting i simply fail.

@Zeugnimod - Im not sure, the thread may be deleted. But i remember very clearly that u set me on fire.

I don't.

By the way, being around for a long time does not necessarily make you awesome, Aerosmith have been around for a long time, but they're still awful.

And so all this "Oh anyone after (insert year about 2-3 after I joined here)" is complete bollocks.
True, it ain't fair saying that, but it's fair saying that the mayority of the ones that are the most hostile, has joining date as 07 - 08.
That's at least my notice.
You don't even have to have been here very long to notice the amount of "internet hardnuts" this forum attracts, I agree with TVE where as soon as a new player asks a repeated question they get set alight. And then will not feel welcomed into the game's community.

Sure, we can all take a joke, TVE is a fine example! Everyone thinks he's a bit of a drunken nutter, but he know's we're only messing about.

Thing is, not everyone knows who's joking and who isn't. So think before you post.

EDIT: Am I included in this "hostile" group?

TVE.. what is happening to you?

I'm with Kalev on this one... :P

Do you not think that could be because the majority of currently active forum members joined around about that time?

Everyone who frequents this forum is guilty of being a complete arse at some point, some more often.
Probally, but it doesn't matter. I do not often see people from the 03-05 era shouting and whining nosence replies when a newbie makes a outdated question. Saying it doesn't happen will obvious be a lie, so I won't, but whatever the reason might be, something did happend with the group of members that joined in the later LFS era.

Brandon, no it's not like I am saying you and you and pointing fingers on various users, I'm speaking about generally. Even if there seems to be certain pathers between the different joining group, it's too easy blaming joining date. It's on invidual level. What's been said and done we canot change, but what we can do is to change and make sure LFS forum blossoms again as it used to do, with nice and cool atmosphere.

We should have a forum Blacklist, and put "bad asses" in the stocks! :mischievo

I'd just like to clarify that I'm not "with" Tommy. Unlike him I'm not a flaming homosexual.

Secrets just cannot be kept anymore... you're right TVE, this forum has gone to shit!
Quote from hazaky :You just made an example of what he was talking about. How about, take ur time and add something useful in ur post.

Go cry about it, I'm not allowed to agree with him? I 100% agree with TVE, this forum has gotten to be full of ***holes, nobody is ever nice to other people here. Seems you are doing what he is talking about in his post as well, hypocrite.

And you just set another perfect example, he tells you (in a perfectly fine way, I didn't see anything offensive in that) to put some thought in your post and not just write a two letter reply. Then you start throwing mud around calling him and other people whatnot, why is that necessary? Couldn't you just think for a second or don't reply at all and punch some medicine ball.

Of course you're not the only one but it was hard to not reply to you now, because you seem to be one of the people who do not like the hostile environment on this forum either, so why not be a good example and cut out the cursing, there is really no need for it. If everybody would just read out loud his text before hitting that "submit reply" button, the forum would already be a better place, why? Because I'm sure you wouldn't talk to friends, family or even complete strangers like that.

rant over
Quote from 5haz :overused cool internet sayings,

I quietly stick those people on my ignore list. They seem to post the same thing in every thread they read, like a dog pissing on every lamppost it walks past. I've already seen their favourite stupid internet saying, so I don't need to read it the next 100 times they post it.

There are still some knowledgeable and friendly people here (I'm not one of them) but they're rarely called upon to post now because all the important things they know about have already been explained, and all the curious and intelligent people find those posts using the search. So now most of the noise is just stupid people yelling at eachother.
I totally agree with TVE's post. All we get nowadays is flaming, not contructive criticism. I am also fed up with all those moaning about LFS's development speed. If you don't like it then stop playing. Simple as that. You should be counting yourselves lucky for the fact you have become part of a wide community, have got a game with more than enough content, which also has the best physics I have ever had the pleasure of trying.
I like Ribena.

On this note (Not the note about Ribena) the forums have always been like this. It's just that when you are new here and all these personalities post you half look up to them. It's looking through the forums with rose tinted spectacles. Reminds you of meeting new people.

I still like the forums here, I just choose to post less and less.
I've been helpful in the past, and I still am, every now and then. Some questions asked by newbies have been asked thousands of times. It's as if some of them forgot to engage their brain. They want to know something, and instead of searching, they ask us.

This doesn't count for every newbie, but it does for too many of them. Sometimes I think by myself: why should I take the effort to be nice and help, when 'they' won't take the effort to help themselves out?

I'm patient, but I'm running out of patience..
The question is however, why using energy at all beeing rude?
Everyone know that non-searching members are a botter, but answering the question only gives positive results (in most cases).

It takes virtually no energy to do anything on an internet forum, that is, after all, probrably the reason why they are so popular.
Quote from danthebangerboy :So, why not just have a thread made with a question and answer in,

Sounds good, should have an FAQ post

Quote from 5haz :
I think the best solution would be to have stricter administration, but the admins should be careful to punish the original protagonist rather than those who get angry as a result of the protagonist's actions.

If the best way forward is stricter administration, it will be all or none. kind of like a school playground.

Bully hits kid --> Kid goes to teacher --> bully "might" get in trouble. If he does not get in trouble this time, he WILL be under a watchful eye.
Bully hits kid --> kid hits back --> teacher sees it, both get in trouble, normally the kid more so for doing the wrong thing and not telling teacher.

whose more the fool - The fool itself, or the ones who follow the fool...
