How To Find A Team?
What's the best way to go about finding a team, or a casual group of people to race with? I'm about fed up with public servers and the non-stop BF1 crap, and this is about the last thing I can think of to keep this game fresh for me.

I see what looks like team servers all over the place, but they are usually empty. I also see members from teams on some public servers, but most of them won't give you the time of day unless you have some 'ubar' skin or something...

So, if anyone knows how to go about this or is part of a casual/hardcore racing team that knows to brake at turn 1.... please let me know, I'd like to continue to play this game

Good call, i'm in the same boat. No real time for league-racing right now, but pick-up races and the bf1 are driving me insane. Perhaps all we need is a well-policed/pw'ed server that limits combinations, maybe a different car-class/track every few days.
Head over to the teams section and plead your case.

Most teams are always looking for additions, provided you're a clean consciencous driver you don't have to be lightening usually.

i just found hotlapping, have a look its kinda fun to try and beat the benchmark times (well it is for me ) no chance of a WR but i must say its fun specialising your hotlaps in one car, for me its the XFR and you can see the ranks for just that car, its just another area.

www.lfsworld.net is a great place to waste some time.

or skinning cars / helmets, if you have the patience, i find that fun and rewarding to take the car out on track. i swear it makes me race faster. heheh.

ive not stepped into the world of leagues or a proper team yet (just some RL mates team so far).
Try NASSA they are active in North America.

A freindly bunch of racers if you im "atomant" in LFS world or via a forum thread i am sure they will welcome you

ps. the nassa 500 server is a good place to start

well... they never really explain how to find them... maybe if face man takes a break from the sunbed and BA gets his finger out of his ass, they might find you.. I love it when a plan comes together..
If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the LFS Team SubForum. Seriously, if you're looking for a team, get friendly with people in public servers (dont stalk them), join public team servers and get yourself known. Make it obvious you're looking for a team (but don't spam "I NEED A TEAM"), and then see where things go. Another thing to do would be to get your bum on the IRC channel. Little races used to get organised there (irc.gamesurge.net, #liveforspeed).

Foo.
There are some teams that exist in a more MMO style clan system like x.clownpaint, but others - like mine exist on a different premise.

For example my team was formed by accident, on a particular programming forum somebody found LFS and a few others tried it - and now a couple of us run in team colours in a league and practice together on our own mini-server (which we usually leave public whilst it is running).

Joining a clan style team isn't too hard, once you have identified a team you might join just speak to a member and ask for the web page address.

To join my team however you would have to establish yourself as a games programmer sufficiently to be accepted into the membership of the TGPF, which as of two days ago is now quite easy provided you have written at least 1 game - but used to be on a very secretive blackballing system...

LFS isn't really like other online games with communual "raids" as such, but there are communities within the wider community where you should be able to find the kind of racing you want.

Think I bumped into you last night... to be fair the server we were on did have a real mixture of abilities... if you were to try one of the restricted combo ukct.net servers such as FE Gold fox I think you'd have more fun than last night when you did seem to be getting a bit of a rough ride.

Alternatively you could scout around....there's plenty of teams about, not all of em are aliens and not all of em have uber skins either.

Race on the pubics, bump into people and take it from there mate.. seems to me that's about the size of it.
Your more than welcome to come to the ||| Land Of The Free server.
One of the fastest servers in North America.

We strive to have clean, quality racing.

Take care, see you online.

Well, that sounds like us!! None of us are aliens (well trev is), and our skins are ok. And actually, most of us are real jerks!! Slopi, you are welcome on our servers anytime. Ive seen you online some and you seem to be a good guy! Stop by anytime!!
Quoted by me from a Different Thread

Quote from Fordman :

1. Why join a Team?

Well there is hundreads of reason to join a Team. YOu get to make new friends. You get to build a relationship with these people that they become very good friends. You keep in contact off the track, and generally chat between each other. On the track, you get to race with people in the same cloths ( skins ) as you. You get to share moments of PB's and WR's with each other. You get an enjoyment of racing for your team and you get the support you would not get racing on your own. Most important, enjoy yourself and have some fun.

2. How do you Join a Team

Well that one is easy. You race on servers, you put your self about and make good conversation and laptimes. Speed is not everything in Team building, but generally being friendly and showing a slight bit of willingness helps along way. Most teams have a forum, so being active in there without being a team member helps, as its not always online track time teams are looking for. Generally be yourself and have a good time, and you cannot go wrong from there.

Most importantly, have fun and enjoy yourself ( damn have I said that before somewhere )

Thats my honest opinion of team building.
