Suggest a car for me!
I am on the lookout for a different car, I fancy a change, these are my tickboxes, anyone got any suggestions.

1) Must be a bit "different", not the same thing every other bugger has.
2) Preferably RWD, but I will considered FWD or 4WD.
3) Must have 4 seats.
4) Must be a UK car, no grey imports.
5) Ideally be fun to drive, but whilst still being reasonably practical.
6) Must be able to pick one up for under £4000.

Any suggestions?

Have to say... it is quite difficult to find a suitable car using those guidelines.... well for me personally
Yeah, I know, tough guidelines, I am struggling TBH, which is why I'd see if the LFS populus would be able to think outside the box and come up with something!.

Porsche ain't a bad idea, not sure how big the back seats are, or how practical it would be though.
#4 - amp88
Nissan 200SX / Lexus Soarer.
#5 - Byku
Ford SportKa .... trust me... it is fun ... and it is girly...
Liking the 156 or 200sx idea
156 with the 2.5 V6. I know you want to.
Already got a weasel, fancied going back to basics with a petrol engine!
You might just be able to find an RX-8 for that price if you haggle and find a bargain.

No such thing as a Lexus soarer.

Lexus was the American version of the Toyota soarer. It was called the Lexus Sc300 or Sc400 depending on engine choice (with a few other minor differences also)

Sorry...just a bit of a gripe of mine

Go the rotors.
Ford Puma 1.7?

FWD but fun, 4 seats, cheap insurance, quick... not the easiest to park and the back seats are tiny. You can get a very tidy 02 (last ones made) special edition for £4k.
mk1 granada!

same here, btw there are 4 seats in a Porsche 944 but there is absolutely no space for 4 people xD (maybe little kids) so it's useless, if you didn't prefer 4 seats I'd suggested a mx5.

Epic!!!

There's not much space in that porsche at all... unless it's for transporting a dog or a baby not people!

mazda mx6 .. although fwd it should be nice... *haven't been in the 2nd generation one* but they always had the same amount of space as 4 door ones...

Over here, its called a Soarer, so Amp is right in these circumstances.

@ Dan. Grab a beer and take 30 minutes to look through this list i collected. Some of them may not fit your "requirements", but it atleast gives you some ideas. I also realise that some of them are already sold, or slightly out of budget, but its just to show you what you could get for your money, whether that would be with slight haggling or not. Hope this helps.

Sheesh, you guys have hardly any miles on used cars and they are dirt cheap! No wonder you guys don't take loans out on cars.

Most of those cars would be 200,000 mile worthless rustbuckets over here where I'm at.
The second hand car market in the UK is really cheap at the moment BUT the amount we get charged for fuel, road tax, insurance and servicing makes up for it.
