You'll save money, and won't look like a tool. And you, and other road users, will also be safer. I've already attempted to explain this to you.
Why will I look like a tool in a BMW then?
Any 17 year old would. And it's not as though you, err, look particularly old for 17 either. People (read: police) might think a, err, somewhat younger person had stolen it.

Can you name anyone under about 30 that could possibly look 'good' in a BMW?
So basically you are saying to have a BMW you have to be over 30. Also, I don't want the BMW to look good, I want it as I like BMWs.

If the Police do keep on stopping me in a BMW if I get one, all I have to do is go to the cop shop, tell them what keeps happening with proof to back it up and the will put a tag on my car that will alert the Police in the car that I am over 17 and it's my car, job done - Bobs your uncle, fannys your aunt and slimdicks your brother :P
Yes, I am saying that.

You only like BMWs because you think you'd look good in one. If it was for the driving experience, engineering quality, 'features' or the like then you wouldn't want one. BMWs are all about perceived image.

Thankfully, my car is the size of a fisher-price car, so I don't have these problems I can also park it sideways in quite a few parking spaces, screw parallel parking

Big cars (BMW?) aren't so good for a first car. Expect to give it a nice few tings, and hope you don't wrap it round a tree

You know you can't actually do that, right?

You can't place a "tag" on a car so the police know its not stolen - otherwise everyone would steal those cars as no-one would stop them...

You do know you can right, you can go in complaining about harrasment and they will then stop following you or pulling you over.

I always like the way you have to bring engineering into everything, I want a BMW because I like the cars and want something different from the usual first cars.

I like BMWs because I like them as a whole and you also can't really knock German engineering lol.

I don't think you can tag a car as 'owned and driven by a twelve year old look a like.

Yes, cars are engineering. You most certainly can knock German engineering.

You like them as a whole? What kind of comment is that?

It's not trees he has to look out for. But signs. Especially vicious ones.
Stop trollin tristan, he wants the car so let him find out for himself, the sign thing wasn't funny either its a little old now. From what you sound like in that post your the one who should be watching out for the police acting like a 12 year old, youre in your 20's now, you should know when a jokes gone too far and frankly im sick of you sprouting shit, thinking you know everything, disagreeing with everything, mocking peoples car choices. Just grow the **** up.
Kids driving BMWs, and you call our country rich....
why? beemers are nothing special over here. But thats not M3s, more the 1.6s. As normal as the Saturns you drive over there

Actually, I went to sleep.

It's not exactly trolling. It's telling someone how daft they'll look in a BMW as a first car. He'll regret it in the longer term...

It is, and - no he won't
IMO you're looking daft, as you say, in some kinda of small fiats, pugs, vw's and so on.
And also, if you don't like BMWs, that doesn't mean that everyone else shouldn't like them too.
And sam93, i would go for a e36 coupe, e30 touring with 1.6 just ins't right

Actually, he doesn't look daft in these small crapbox'es, because about 99% UK young peoples are driving them

I like that e36 coupe a lot, but the e30 touring is also growing on me lol, looks lovely with the mtech 2 kit. The touring also has the 2.5 running gear so when I get old enough to insure a 2.5, I can just bang a 2.5 engine in it

I will make a poll when the times comes on here and on SSS.

And I want to be in that 1% that don't drive them :P
I dont get it.

First you claim you want something small and nippy, and now you want a BMW? IMO, go for something small like a corsa, clio, saxo etc to keep the running cost's down. In the BMW, you will be going through tyres alot faster than you would if you was in a FWD econo-box due to the rear wheels having drive, so you will wear them out alot quicker than you would on a FWD car.

Also, repair cost's would cost more and your insurance would be more expensive as would your fuel consumption.

Also, (and im not trying to be a troll) i know i have said this MANY times before on this thread, but your dreaming. DREAMING.

Stop day dreaming about what car you think you are gonna end up with, and concentrate on getting some actual money so you that you can go and buy this car when the time comes. Its all well and good getting advise about what car you should buy, but your getting too excited and ahead of yourself. Your not 17 until February next year, so it (in real world terms) wont be until april/may kinda time until you pass your test (maybe longer) and thats even if you purely concentrate on getting it done. Your going to need money for your lessons and tests with the lessons being expensive, so there going to cost you alot. Also, if i remember rightly, you dont even have a job yet right? Another reason why you should stop day dreaming and concentrate on being able to get everything you want as atm, all this talk about you wanting to buy this car, and do this modification to it is extremely pointless considering you have no sort of significant cash flow.

Again, i dont mean to sound like an arrogant prick, but its the truth and you need to realise that. Get a job and some money, then come back here instead of hopeful wishing.

I have a job, have done for the last 2 months. The only other hatchback I'm actually interested in, is a Civic 1.4 and thats the same price as a 316i.

As for tires, if money is tight and I can't afford brand new tires, I will just nip down to Plymouth tire center who sell part worn tires - imported from a country where they have to change their tires after a certain amount of miles if I recall correctly.

So you may think I'm dreaming, but I'm saving to try and make it reality. The only money I'm spending is on my bike and thats only the essentials.
#373 - Zay
so know you just want hatchbacks? I was going to say to get a pontiac grand prix, because they are a good car, fairly cheap, and very easy to modify(but in my opinion the body already looks nice enough).
I am choosing between a E30 touring or E36 coupe lol.

Still a BMW
Good, dont listen to tristan, probably its just his childhood memory about bmw's. but please stop loling after every sentence.
