Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series

US-American Motorsports starting in a few days with the 24h of Daytona for the Grand Am Rolex Sportcar Series followed a month later with a green flag and some boogity in Florida with the Daytona 500. The 12h of Sebring will follow on March 21st. The Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's take place on April 24th.

I'd rather like to see the ALMS schedule extended by Gilles Villeneuve. Also I'd rather like to see the IndyCar schedule to be based on the ALMS schedule (+Gilles Villeneuve) and add then up to 5 Ovals (Fontana, Indy 500, Milwaukee, Las Vegas, [Daytona?]) +Toronto+Edmonton+Infineon. NASCAR stays with its incredible 36 races season.

Adding le Circuit Gilles Villeneuve to the ALMS schedule would be nice, as would adding le Circuit Mont Tremblant.

I think they tested Indy Cars on the Daytona road course a year or two ago, not sure they'd ever run on the oval though.

Wish they'd run an ALMS race at Watkins Glen since that isn't too far from me, I'd definitely go.

Simple reason it won't is the France family's anticompetitive ownership of NASCAR and ISC.

Add Champcar Atlantics to that list, I'll certainly be following it this year

Yeah pretty much. If they let Indy Car in though they should just do ALMS too, money is money!

NASCAR don't have a rival to IRL. They do have a "rival" to ALMS in the form of Grand Am.

But don't forget the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve belongs to Montreal. NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and GrandAm cannot avoid IndyCar Series, Indy Lights and American LeMans Series if Montreal gives them the second at the moment vacant season spot for the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

I really hope the cars don't eff up that track. It's pristine at the moment and it'd be a huge shame to see it get horribly bumpy all of a sudden.

I hear they're adding more bumps to that track in the next online incompatible patch.

I'm goin to the Richmond nascar race in may and september, and most likely the indy race and Rolex race at VIR

I'm actually thinking about trying to make it to a Richmond race this year.

Cant wait for the Rolex start as there's a few NASCAR drivers competing in the Rolex opening.

I'm just hoping one of them takes Danica out hahaha.

I'll at least get 5 trackdays in at NJMP Thunderbolt before the cars come. Not sure if the cars are using Thunderbolt or Lightning, though. At the moment they're completely separate tracks right next to each other, much like Summit Main and Shenandoah.

No I dont think so, I think after that one time thing in a corvette was it.

I know Jimmie Johnson will be participating as he's always done well with that team. I think Kurt Busch will be in as well since he finished third last year. And maybe Terry Labonte since he's two time sebring champ.

Labonte decided not to do it this year.

Jimmie Johnson, Max Papis, Colin Braun, Kevin Harvick and AJ Allmendinger for running.

I've been to Pocono, Watkins, Atlanta, and Phoenix. The Phoenix race I was at lasted into the night which was cool, and kind of why I want to go to Richmond since they're night races and a good short track.

On the NASCAR subject, I've only been to Talladega. Although like 16 times. My dad used to work right across the street from the track. Good fun.

Night races are great, the cars look so much better under the lights, and not to mention not getting sunburn! How was watkins glen? I really want to see a road course nascar race and that's the closest track... Can you see alot? Anyways, if you were to go to another nascar track, I HIGHLY recommend richmond, great seats(can see from virtually anywhere) and there's always close racing, not to mention it's alot of the drivers' favorite track.

Eh, I'm a short track guy so Watkins Glen doesn't do much for me as far as the racing goes, I go for the partying. For the race we sat in the grass near the uphill S's(turn 3ish I guess?), so we could see them in turn 1 and 2 and they start uphill and disappear. But yeah, the partying is a good time so its totally worth it. There was a big screen with the race on in front of us though so we could still see what was happening. The view might be better from the stands down in turns 1 and 2 though.

I really really want to go to the Bristol night race one of these years, I imagine it is one of the coolest motorsports events you could witness. I'd probably take that over a Daytona 500.
