Hi!
I run a dual core p4 3.0 with asus extreme n6600gt and get 95 fps (1600x1200). check:
- vertex shading inside LFS. change from software to hardeware (don't remember the name correct)
- AA or FF (is that the names?): Properties you can set on the graphic card (I get 95 fps with no AA or FF, about 55 with AAx4 and FFx4)
Would not be tired in the mornings (perhaps). My GPL rank would be better (-0.9) and I would have alot more laps on Nürburgring trying to go negative. My motorcycle would be finished. But I had not know the nice people in the LFS team am in and all other nice people on the forums.
Hi!
Is there a way to recive data from lfsworld or direct from a host?
Exampel:
If I race on our team server is it possible to get the data from those races?
...so if I don't have a graphic card LFS will run anyway?
(as I wrote before: It changed my fps from 45 to 92 by changing from onboard graphic to a N6600GT)
Hi!
I went all the way...
I had a 1.7 Ghz with a MX2 card (i think?), the computer was stumbeling a 5-20 fps. then I bought new motherboard(aopen i915ga-e) with onboard graphics and a Intel p4 3.0 dual core. This made lfs to run at 45 fps. Then I bought a graphics card, ASUS extreme N6600GT and when I enabeld "hardware vertex shading", "24bit" depth and 1600x1200 I now have 92 fps. In my case the graphics gard made huge difference. I could not enable vertex shading before.
So if you want to solve this with out ActiveX...How do you do?
I have a XML file and a XSL file that order the the output. I would like to have them on the server and "only" see the htm output. Is there a better/other way to solve it?
Hi!
Do you know why this work in IE 6 and not Firefox 1.07?
/Tooby
Code example:
----------------------------------------------------------
<html>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
// Load XML
var xml = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
xml.async = false
xml.load("<path and name of file>.xml")
// Load XSL
var xsl = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
xsl.async = false
xsl.load("<path and name of file>.xsl")
// Transform
document.write(xml.transformNode(xsl))
</script>
</body>
</html>

Hi!
I was a fan of simbins stuff but the first demo worked bad (GTR) and the second...(GTL)
I don't think I can shut down my computer that fast even if I disconect power. So I had been looking forward to drive thoose cars but it will not happen. I have read a lot off good things about GTL but I stay with LFS.
It sounds interesting
I found a pdf in swedish (Resistance decrease in nature - a bad translation of the heading from a univerity in Sweden), but there is some links in the end that may be helpful. It talks about friction according to form and friction increase when flow is to leave the body. It says something about delphins that have small "ridges (fåror in Swedish), don't know the word" that makes the animal to feel the preassure and then they can change the hight/depth of thoose "ridges" to decrease friction. http://130.235.81.176/~ht/COURSES/MMV/documents/Delfiner.pdf
Hope this can help you in some way

Edit: Funny...Delphins reduce friction while they make jumps in the water (the friction is higher because of the waves)
Hi! I don't know about your nividia driver, look at the site of nivida. I use a early version of "81.85_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe" (78.xx something). Perhaps your card wont work with it... Run dxdiag from Start\run press save to save a text file with all data about your pc. Show the result in the thread and hopefully someone will come up with an idea. /Tooby
