Quote from deggis :Don't worry. Williams is not going to show to door for Maldonado ($$$).

Exactly. Unless PDVSA decides to bail out on the payments, Maldonado is staying at Williams (otherwise Frank would be more than happy to kick the git off the team).

It's almost like Petrov and Renault at the moment. Although I'm a bit pissed at Petrov apologising for criticising the team, they deserved to hear that (as much a Renault fanboy as I am), they were needing someone to vent and talk about what's wrong with Renault at the moment.

My race efforts got absolutely thrashed because of a flat tyre with 2 laps to go, after having to pit for fuel the lap before. Then because I had a flat tyre, I didn't slow down quickly enough for the pits and got myself a 30-second time penalty.

Now, I was a bit confused here when the admins told me the penalty was going to be cleared once they told me to stop (during the race, and this happened after the flat tyre stop). I ended up stopping just before the finishing line to get the penalty cleared and the game spectated me!!! That totally was a stupid move from me and now that I watched the replay, it just makes that move look even worse.

Anyway, gonna finish on a positive note, I loved the racing while it lasted. During the first laps I was completely surrounded by cars, and it seemed that at every corner there were different cars fighting for position next to me. It was really great stuff! Also going back and forth with Rolands was pretty fun as well, specially hwile trying to hold him back and keep the tyres working. So not all was lost (even though I'm gutted to lose 7th or 8th place), I just wish I signed up earlier for this series.

Great work guys, hopefully I'll be back racing TBO again!

A bit too much LLM coverage in there, I'm afraid. You need to have a bit of every car tat took part, and as a fact there wasn't a second of it showing the current champions.
And by the way, concrete walls aren't really supposed to shine.
Could use a bit more work on the effects, not just lomography on the whole video. And the music really doesn't fit with the video.
Might as well have something instrumental (Joe Satriani or some production tracks that don't suck too much) in the background with a bit of engine noise, really.

I'm not saying that the video is a complete load of shite, just pointing out the flaws.

Quote from Rappa Z :Question for the nerdies...

How do yo think the new tyre physics will affect off roading and rallycross?

*puts beer bottle glasses on* I think they might give a bit more feeling and hopefully some much needed shakiness to the FFB. I just hope the road car tyres won't flex as much on the corners as they do now, the flexing is far too exaggerated to look realistic.

Quote from TehPaws3D :You know, With the simple bump he did, I don't know whats worse, Him bumping a thread with a question asked on almost every page, Or the forum members trolling him for absolutely no reason.

Get on the track, Say something constructive or just be quiet..

This.

We know that there are always people here who like to show the forum that they have their head up their arse/are desperate for attention everytime they get a chance, all we say is just ignore them.

Not as bad as the other so-called drifting "edits", but you've still got a fairly long way to go, I'm afraid
How long do you take to make those pictures, by the way?

There were plenty of full servers when I started going online in mid-2008-ish, but it's now a rare thing to see more than 1 full public server since CTRA closed. It wasn't just people losing hope on the VWS postponement.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :They still haven't fixed it?

The devs only gave a monkey's about Tier 3 all this time, really.

Quote from PMD9409 :That seem to only happen on certain servers, at least for me.

It's been happening a lot more often lately, but yeah, if you find a server with high ping (about 100+) then there's no chance, getting in the apache is going to make the game choppier.

Quote from CrAZySkyPimp :Nein, I ment the AH64 with the new updates. If you max out the trainingpoints for it, it's just ridiculously overpowered on Oman and DV. All the ground-units are green dots on your screen, same with all vechiles etc. I think it even can see ground-units thru the walls.

Ah, ok. But to be honest, the AH-64 has been an overpowered helicopter since the MIL-28's hellfires stopped working on vehicles.

I think I'll only be able to see which one's better when the bugs on both helicopters are sorted out, because when you have a heli that makes your game freeze if you look behind and then another heli whose hellfires only work on infantry, it's a bit hard to pick a favourite :/

Quote from Chupacabras84 :Historix still influenced by terrible rFactor physic, you push the brake a bit more and the car spins, you add a bit too much gas and the car spins, you lift of the throttle as you go into the corner with changes in elevation and your car still spins.
And its doesnt mean it is realistic just because its nearly impossible to drive its only mean that in rFactor even slightest of slides are classified as unrecoverable conditions.

If you want cars from that era my advice would be, go for GT Legends.
IMHO GTL is superior to rFactor in almost every aspect and especially when it comes to physics.

You lose some grip in lfs, Its cool, you are going to drift.
You lose some grip in rFactor, OHHH!!! SHT! FCK!! SHT! FCK!!! FFFUUUCK!!!

So if you like cars from 60-80's go for GTL i think currently its the best sim with vintage cars and since Historix uses textures and models from GTL you wont notice any difference in how it look.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuCbEW1X5NM - your argument is invalid for rFactor.

I do agree with you on the losing grip thing in rFactor, but it's completely up to you to correct the slide, the FFB won't notice it for you as it happens with LFS.
You see, unlike in LFS, rFactor's FFB (even realfeel) won't simulate G-Forces (in most mods), and those G-Forces are what make you notice the opposite lock, it's not the grip and feel of the tyres that will tell you that the car is sliding or starting to lose control.

If you drive a real car, you'll see that while doing a corner, turning the wheel imposes no effort or force, it's only the small G-Forces pushing you and well, "letting you know" that the car is indeed going left or right; if you turned the wheel but the car went straight on, you could notice it with your eyes closed because you wouldn't be pulled to the left or right.

Although I do understand that in rFactor, it's hard to keep a F1 car in a straight line with all the bumps and the wheel pushing to both sides, doing everything except staying on the centre while going flat out on a straight. That's the only thing I hate in rFactor's FFB.

usual temperatures here are always around the 20's, now that it's the beginning of Autumn it's going to 20-17 and by Winter it will be about 10-15º...not much of a change at all, and to make things worse, there's usually a lot of humidity.

I did send you a PM sometime last weekend asking for the password but got no response :/

Anyway, everyone makes mistakes, so there's no need to kick yourself for that (even though this particular mistake rendered those laps of practice pretty much useless ).
