One of the first google hits IIRC, unfortunately there's no helpful info there. Cheers anyway.

The closest I've found, is an old app for NFS4 to extract and insert sound files into the bnk's used in that game for addon cars or something. Couldn't get it to run under XP though.

If it wasn't as benificial to flat shift, using a gated shifter would be a lot less of a disadvantage IMO. This and having proper gearbox simulation would improve the realism quite a bit for me. (Was driving a Citroen C2 (VTR I think?) the other day that used an automatic clutch, and paddles for manual or an auto mode - having an auto clutch and using the paddles was slower than a manual clutch)

I remeber once upon a time flat shifting wasn't as widespread as it'd cause noticable popping after a few laps, but this must have been quite a few patches back, or even S1
Extracting files from .BNK's?

Just wondering if this is possible? Google didn't really enlighten me much on working with .bnk's or how data is actually stored in them (I assume its an archive of some type?).

Would be nice if when the "proper" damage model is implimented, flat-shifting the road cars for anything more than a quick race results in engine deterioration. The way you can flat shift any car for as long as you like with no damage is unrealistic IMO. Of course this doesn't really apply to cars like the BF1 or GTR's.

Race doesn't use Starforce.

I don't think any game purchased via Steam has any use for Starforce?

I started smoking mostly down to my parents smoking and peer pressure around mates. All seems a bit stupid when you look back on it Started on and off when I was 14, wish I left it at that but when I started college I started smoking more and more. I'm not comfortable around people I don't know so the social aspect helped me deal with it a bit. These days whenever something remotely stressful comes up, when I'm in the car, having a drink, round a mates, out comes the baccy.

Still looking for that motivation to quit..I've got bigger health problems than 10 fags a day which I need to deal with first, I do want to try again this summer though.

Sounds brilliant, I'll buy a couple if you stock them in my *cough* rather large size.

Any ideas on when you hope to have them in stock?

A common sight where I used to live:

Rumor had it, if they went over a speedbump too fast the fuel pump would sometimes cut for a few secs. So obviously they're the ideal cop car.

There's a demo of WTCC: Race. The actual demo is crap and shouldn't have been released as the games a LOT better, but its fine for a test.

A mount to have it sat on the back of the wheel housing would work well. Then you could have the rev's, gear, shift light & fuel info, and it wouldn't look daft being there.

My resolution is to get back into shape, excercise, eat less, stop living off takeaways, that sort of thing.

This starts tomorrow of course, I'm still having trouble focusing on the screen after last night.

Lets see. There's a road, its lined with cars whose drivers have no idea how to parallel park, ooo and there's houses on the other side of the road as well. Oh and there's lots of rain too On a Friday night its normally lined with empty bottles sometimes in several pieces and a couple of pizza boxes. And lots of people who drink too much

If the problem is in all games, RMA it and get a new one. Could be a faulty motor or a loose optical sensor or something.

To be honest, whats the point in doing an RMA over a 50p power cable? The transformers the same for all G25's. The return postage would be 10x the cost of the lead.

I've yet to see a well positioned speed camera in this part of the country. The best one is coming into Totnes, its a 30mph limit at the base of a hill with no chance of the car coming down from the national limit the road was before you reach the camera, espically in an automatic. As you go up the hill on the other side there's a traffic light junction anyway, so really what was the point in sticking one there.

A year or two back in Milton Keynes, some fellow took matters into his own hands and kept cutting them down. Took them a long time to put one back up in Old Wolverton..

The RA definately sounds the best out the bunch, the LX's & FXO aren't bad either. Overall I think the sounds have definately improved - I've switched back to them from CSR, CSR may sound a lot better at full throttle but the LFS sounds are so much nicer and informative when at part throttle.

I did have to make a couple of adjustments though, namely turning the noise shaping stuff off on my stereo and turning the subwoofer down, otherwise everything sounded too base heavy.

Overall IMO the sounds are a big step up from before, of course they need more work but I'm happy with the progress being made, definately heading in the right direction.

If its faulty send it back, you may only occationally use the reverse gear but you paid for a defect free unit, not a faulty one.

Or if you feel like voiding the warranty, its not too difficult to have the unit apart and check the microswitch.

A Nokia 6680. Can't go wrong with a Nokia - nicely dumbed down interface and fairly durable handsets. Plus everyone and anyone has a charger for them somewhere.

I voted Vista..a lot of the stuff under the skin has changed for the better. But its definately a more evolutionary release rather than revolutionary like ME -> XP was (unless you was upgrading from W2K anyway). Doesn't matter either way, it'll be forced onto every new PC and anyone wanting to play DX10 games will have no choice but to upgrade. I think not backporting DX10 to XP is a big mistake, they've basically extended the life of DX9 for another good couple of years until most people have dumped XP.

The new interface looks nice for all of 10 mins, but I ended up back on Classic, just like XP. Once some Windowblinds themes are better optimized for Vista that could lead to some nice usable themes that don't waste all your screen space.

A lot of cases that have doors have the 1st drive uncovered so you can get to the first drive without opening it, or for putting in fan controls etc. The case on my other box is like that.
