I use a custom cockpit view , when I started playing LFS some years ago I used the wheel view , but soon realised there is only one view that feels real and that is cockpit
AAh man , I was just about to ask for a kind of thread that was attempeted by Electricwolf and he gets shot down illepall . Looks like this is turning into a rfactor mod forum
Cant we have a sticky controlled by a moderator where the author will PM the moderator with Description, picture and link to the files ? .
Lets show the rFactor forum how it suppose to be done please
This is the ultimate LFS video for me thus far . Linking to it on our LFS forum in South Africa , can't see how a person can watch that video and not wanna buy LFS S2 straight away
yeah there is now way to determine hlv of the laps , but it would still be interesting to see the times. Its only a mpr cause I was alone on a server when I decided to sse how fast I can go over a 5 lap race . Spr are welcome
Girl racers are cool , wish my wife also played LFS , would have prevented alot of fights . But I had a bad experience with one a S2 Full server (I presume it was a girl seeing she had a girl name , with pink text and a pink car ) . She thought I took her out on purpose in t2 at blackwood and then started wrecking the next few races we did , waiting for me in t1 for and taking me out etc illepall . But yeah girl racers are cool , but not if they have a short temper
I have this idea for a LFS Util and would like to know from you guys with programming experience if its possible .
The idea is to have a Setup folder separate from LFS where all your setups is stored per car and per track E.g. FOX/Blackwood Folder . Then when in game one uses insim to determine which car and track combo is currently selected(I think this is possible) and then move all setups from the settings folder to a temp folder and move all setups from the corresponding folder (E.g. FOX/Blackwood) in the separate setup folders to the settings folder of LFS.
So then once you pit and you will only see the setups for the car and track . Now I know this is something that the Devs will probably do in the future if not already with S2 but I think it will be handy .
One can only hope , the devs set a kind of a precedence by giving us “something” come Xmas day . But I think we should see S2 Alpha as our very early Xmas gift
If LFS was developed using a normal business model we would not have heard anything about LFS until about 6 months or so before its final release (in this case 2008-2009) .The game would have been released and people who liked it would have bought it . Using the current model we pay to be part of a process and play a game while its still being developed , we have this cool opportunity to shape LFS into what the Sim community need and wants . Lets compare LFS to other sims when S3 Final is released in the coming years
Agree with alot of things mentioned in the article and it is good that it gets pointed out . I do however think a kinda rating scale would help , seeing that nr2003 would only get a 7 than 5 is not all that bad . But to a normal gamer reading mags like PC Format etc a score of 5 normally means the game really sucks . So they would probably look at the score first before even reading the article and say "a waste of time" .
I personally don’t think a faster driver has the right even to ask a beginner to let him by easy . One of the best races I ever had was with a person on AS club in a FOX . I was about 2-3 sec a lap faster than him , but he defended his position like his life depended on in , I just couldn’t get by him cleanly enough without causing a major accident , but I respect the fact that the person is in front of me and has the right to defend his position , ofcourse I would be upset if he started blocking on purpose and do things against the "rules" .
I would like to see the time delay after you vote "Restart Race" . It helps everybody to get ready for the start and settle down on the grid . Ofcourse it must be set on server side like you said .
