Thanks for the idea dtrott but one thing concerns me just. I'll have to maybe drink 10 cans of redbull before doing that as I'd have tremendous trouble of staying awake for race 2 :P. I'll just try one of the spec I or spec II saves and hope it works.

Hi all. I was wondering if some of you could put me out of doubt. I got a PS3 about a month ago now. Great fun and everything. There is just one thing that concerns me and that it seems to take longer to shut down than when I first got it.

I'm not entirely sure what it could be but once, when I was turning it off, the green light kept flashing and wouldn't turn off so I flicked the main power switch at the back which I admit to being a complete idiot for as I've just read in the manual that its a big no no.

I talked to my brother about it and he said that because modern day consoles are so much like PCs now that when you use it for a while and add data to the hard drive that it would naturally take longer to turn off over time which seems like a reasonable possibility.

To get straight to the point, my PS3 takes 8 seconds to shut down from the moment i select 'yes' to shut the system down from the controller with a disc in the drive, i think its maybe a second or two less without a disc so is this normal?

@Grip Driver: GT5P is quite good but there is something about the handling thats a bit off. You can't feel the car letting go at all. You either have grip or you don't. That said, it ofcourse makes it more of a challenge but on the realism side, not too sure as I would be comparing it to the likes of Forza 2 and LFS. However, its only the prologue version and I don't have broadband yet (using mobile internet here ) so I don't have any of the updates where the physics may have been altered so perhaps a newer version could be much better or better yet, you could always wait for the full game and see whats that like.

I got a few save games there for the Spec III version which I believe I have as I bought it only 3 weeks ago. None of the save games work, it just makes a fresh save game with no cars, no nothing. Can anyone help me with this? I've read about how to delete/copy/overwrite saves but none of it worked.

Hi. I need some help. I've just finished Gran Turismo 5 Prologue (completed all 4 classes). At the end, got a notification that I have a super licence and that I would be eligible to only purchasing the F2007 which is quite aggrevating and not get the actual car, even if I got all gold. Hi all, i need some help. I'm trying to find this model to get as a gift for a friend. His birthday is in a few days. Unfortunately, I've looked around the minichamps site and they said they're sold out and won't be getting another batch till March next year . So, I went looking around other sites (Grand Prix Legends, eBay shops, etc.) but they're either sold out or used (seller stated that its damaged) so I googled around. I've found the 1:43 scale version but I'd really prefer to have the 1:18 but there were no other 1:18th scale one or at least not for sale (just some guys showing off with it). So, if anyone here knows a source to where someone has this model brand new and are selling it ofcourse, please tell me. Thank you.

Well, as idiotic as most of you may think, I've kind of made a commitment not to get pirate software. Although PS CS4 will be pricy, its something which will last with me for a considerable amount of time so its basically like a one-off purchase. Obviously, there will be new versions, CS5, CS6 and so forth and so on but until they make some sort of great new features to assist me with design, then I'll probably pass on them.

in terms of graphic programs, I'll definitely have to buy either PS CS4 or PSP X as that would be my main area for design. I'm aware that there are some flash websites which are hard to navigate but my intention isn't going to go for anything super complex and unusable. I'm mostly interested in just small animations here and there for some buttons and transitions between menus but it will all be easily accessible. Something like Bruno Senna's website. Its designed in Flash but with simple, accessible menus but has some of that fanciness of Flash.

My plan is to design a site to assist me in attracting sponsors as I'm intent on approaching some companies in the near time future so I firstly wanted to create the website so that if they wanted to find out any more specific details that perhaps that I may have not mentioned to them during my presentation, then they can find it on my site and secondly, some flashy stuff to impress them which in turn, may make them feel more confident in the knowledge that I am serious about it.

I'll have a look at Silverlight to see its capabilities in comparison to that of Flash.

Hi all! I wanted to ask if you could help me with something. As an amateur graphics designer, it was simply only a matter of time before I'd be interested in getting involved in web design as they seem quite connected . So, I decided to have a look at acquiring Flash from Adobe but the price really, really, REALLY scared me off. I know that Flash is the daddy for web designing and perhaps, I don't necessarily need to ignore it entirely which is why I'm posting this message. I'm aware that the basic way and cost effective way is just to go with standard HTML code but to be honest, it won't do as I'd like to design a site for certain, attractive purposes.

So, basically, what I'm asking is this, is it possible to build Flash websites through a more affordable way and if not, is there a Flash alternative that I perhaps could get into, again, also more affordable or preferably, completely free.

Hi guys, I wanted to ask something about downloadable content for Forza 2. I got Forza 2 about 3 weeks ago and LOVING it . At the time, I was hoping to get the collector's edition as I was etching to drive that 360 Challenge Stradale but unfortunately, I didn't find it so I bought the standard edition. At the moment, I'm not on Xbox LIVE as I still haven't set up a broadband connection in my house so I can't find out for myself what I can download but I read on wikipedia that there were 5 download packs but when I looked into the details of the download packs, none of them contained any of the 3 cars in the collector's edition so I wanted to ask, is there a download pack with the 3 extra cars from the collectors edition or the only way to get them is to buy the collectors edition?

Hey there! hope you're all well. I got an idea at the start of summer about an Irish LFS karting meet as there seems to be quite a number of Irish LFS users about . Anyway, was thinking about going somewhere somewhat central like Galway or Dublin for the track. Was thinking maybe sometime later this month?. As I don't really know any karting venues in Ireland, would anyone suggest any good places to hold this event? I think it would be great crack.

well, I have very much the same feeling but really, you're not doing enough to reach their level . Personally, I built up most of my speed from just driving constantly and understanding more and more about the limits of grip and how to manage it correctly. There are 2 other factors to consider as well or to look into and they're telemetry and setup. Even though you may have the WR set, doesn't necessarily meant that it suits your style so you'd have to tweak it a bit more to your liking. Telemetry is also really really good and I'm intent on getting into properly as telemetry tells you exactly where he's gaining time on you so try and get a program like F1 Performance Viewer or AnalyzeForSpeed as they're very good for that kind of thing.

And then at the end of the day, pure speed isn't the only thing that separates winners from losers, theres also consistency, race craft and strategy. You can race with a guy who can get a 1:12.5 on his 2nd lap but get like 1:13s or 1:14s on his other laps and when compared to someone who can constantly get low 1:13s or something, then they'll most probably find it fairly easy to overtake.

Hi guys! well, I was thinking that sometimes that when we make new threads to ask for help because of a problem and then after a while, find out how to solve it ourselves, resulting the thread pointless, could there be an option to request mods to delete threads?. I think it would also work for those who post about subjects that already have their own thread so that if someone realises that there is another thread about the subject that they made a new topic about, they can request it to be deleted as well. I don't really understand much about the forum system as I understand that the devs bought a forum system from another company so the option may not be available but in the case that it is, I think it would be a great idea.

To be honest, as you quoted Al Heeley, I don't really it as vital as fixing some of the other issues. At the moment, for me anyway, there are only 3 car types missing for me or that I really care about and thats a GTP (GT Prototype, like the Bentley Speed 8 or Toyota TS01), a proper supercar (like the Enzo or Carrera GT) and finally, an unwinged low rank single seater (FF1600 or FF1800) but I don't mind waiting for those until S3 if it must but I have a funny feeling that the devs have a lot of great things planned for the final edition of S2 (hopefully, wet weather driving will be one of them ).

I'd have to pick Alonso. Even though he's a complete arsehole, he's been putting in some very solid performances in what is one of the worst cars on the grid. He's definitely proven so far that it simply wasn't Renault who had an unbeatable car (05 & 06) but that Alonso is a phenomenal driver.

why go off topic? . Why not just put the handbags down and get cracking on a Patch Z compatible version of BeSpoke?
