it had LFS Spectator last season and if they have the same current standings page, they need the insim relay. So chances are very high they'll have it this year

Quote from Calum :To be honest I think IF it ever happened , and a GP2 Championship for LFS was started , I believe the drivers who enter may find it different and better than other leagues , and the close racing would perhaps entice / encourage them to come back and race again , and make more of an effort to turn up and want to fight for points.

I have been looking up some challenging circuits and been trying a few laps round each , the FO8 truly is an unbelievably great car , the racing seems so close , especially if you get the veiw correct.

I can dream lol.

Calum

Dream on indeed!

We race the FO8 in the OWRL, but the only way to get there is by driving in our FOX-division first, or by winning the qualification races before some of the season. So the drivers that make it to the FO8 will have experience and must have hang around for at least 4 races. Still, we see the points that Josh puts up happening in our FO8-Division.

a 24h race usually requires a bit more planning than ½ a month. Think about what you are going to when someone has a disconnect or the server crashes. How are you going to keep the current standings right?

And a 24h will cost you as a driver almost a full weekend, so drivers need some preparance time.

Personally, I really love enduracing, but please not with the MRT. It's fun for sprint races and races which are a bit longer, but I'd move to a bigger car for any endurance race. Maybe other people think different, but to be honest I don't expect many people to be interested.

You can now view the pb's and hotlaps for the participants in the next event at LFS Tracker.

A big thanks to WolleT, the admin of LFS-tracker.de!

Drivers who are registered to take part in the next event will be added to the tracker (please note there is some delay). In the quali mode it automaticaly lists the car & track we'll use for this event.

Drivers can set their pb's and hotlaps until the signup deadline, 3 hours before the race. The tracker will then be used to decide which driver will drive on which server.

NL.LFS.3 - A league for all Dutch LFS'ers

The dutch league will start it's 3rd season and is looking for drivers who like to join. As it's only open to dutch speaking drivers I'll continue in Dutch:

AWD/RWD GTR cup

Quote from KSheppard :I just found this thread ,I think I may have to have a talk with my teammate about it.

My teammate (my father) and I live in the same city and we did this for a 3hr race earlier this year, there's only one problem with the hotswapping plan...our controler overheated, the steering got a bit squirrely and we only managed to get about 2/3 throttle by the end of it...my advice - make sure you test it for 3hrs prior to race day.

I've driven 3 hours on my own before, so that's no problem

Actually I know a few guys who did a 24 hour race with this (not in LFS), they had a controller standing-by as well but didn't need it.

that's a shame but bandwidth is always an issue. Sadly I don't have a spare server with unlimited bandwidth standing by

I like the iniative and hope you can start the radio without these bandwidth issues.
OWRL changes server names, joins Wrecker Barricade
Krutch
S2 licensed

The OWRL servers have had a slight name change. In preparation for S2 Season 5, adding for which division the server is intended should make it more clear for everyone on which server he has to race and on which server to train. In an effort to help keep the servers clean from wreckers, the OWRL has joined the Wrecker Barricade. Still find a wrecker on the server? Report it there and server admins will review it.

The new names for our servers:
[GoodServer.de] OWRL Div A
[GoodServer.de] OWRL Div B1
[GoodServer.de] OWRL Div B2
[GoodServer.de] OWRL Div B3

Div A will run the FO8 for S2 Season 5, as Div B will use the FOX.

Yes, we would allow that if you notify us before. You'd miss quali, but if you're not any later you can start the race from the back of the grid.

I like the idea of driving the XRR, tried to find a teammate for that in LFS GT but most people preferred the FZR. I expect it will be difficult to find a team mate for this one.

You can do 1 hour per stint easily with the xrr, so that makes it planning a bit hard (one driver has to 2 hours, the other one 1). 4 hours would be better (and that could at least be called endurance, I've done plenty of 6h races with 2 drivers).

If the race goes on, I'll try to find a teammate for this.

OWRL to change Div B format for S2 Season 5

There are either a lot of changes or virtually none at all. Depending on where you drive. Div A rules have barely changed from last season. The only novelty here will come in S2 Season 6: The BMW Sauber F1.06 will replace the Formula V8. On the other hand we had the FOX-division, Div B. As it's open to everyone who can race fair, the drivers will be sorted onto the servers by their fastest time. Instead of one race we will move to a sprint and main race. To add to that, a new points system will be used for div B.

Division A
Does 20 top class drivers in fast open wheel cars sound good to you? It sure does to us. With 15 pre-qualified drivers by virtue of there performance in earlier season, 5 drivers can sneak in - if they manage to beat their opponents in the two pre-season races. Div A wil use the same point system as last season. After S2 Season 5, using the FO8, the last 7 drivers in the championship will have to make way for the top 7 of Div B. In S2 Season 6 the BF1 will be used in Div A. For both season race length will be approx. 75 minutes.

Division B
For those who prefer the close racing of the Formula XR or anyone still in the learning stages, Division B is there for you. With virtually no limit on the amount of drivers who can participate and with the only prerequisite you can keep your car in control under normal circumstances, this division is open for everyone.

For S2 Season 5 and 6, Division B-drivers will be assigned onto the server by their pb / hotlap, whichever is fastest. Please note that you will have to set a time, available for the OWRL Admins, on LFS World before the signup deadline. During the event, a 15 minute qualifying decides the starting order for the sprint race. This one has a length of 15 minutes. The main event will endure aprrox. 40 minutes. Log on to www.owrl.de and vote whether the top drivers of the sprint race should start this race in reversed order! More info on the points at the season info page.

Calendar
All races are on saturdays 20:00 CET, summertime when applicable.

-- pre season --
12 August: Kyoto GP Long - FO8
26 August: Westhill int rev - BF1

-- S2 Season 5 --
9 September: Blackwood
23 September: So Town rev
7 October: Fern Bay Black (div A) / Fern Bay Green (div B)
21 October: Aston Historic

-- S2 Season 6 --
4 November: Kyoto National rev
18 Novermber: Westhill int
2 December: Aston National rev
16 December: South City long

2006 championship

Both upcoming seasons also count towards the 2006 championship. At the end of 2006, we'll announce the best 2006 driver. This will be the participant who has the most points when we combine the standings of all our major seasons. To win this prize, the driver does not only need to be fast. Consistency and motivation for all of 2006 will be just as important, as every race of all major seasons will count. As the winner in div B can get 100 points, 30% of the div B points will count towards this championship.

The Open Wheel Racing League is dedicated to bring the best open wheel racing in Live For Speed. The league, organised by drivers of the pod team, has run for over two years. The OWRL not only caters for the fastest drivers, but also for any LFS S2 licensed racer who can race fair.
