Summer is approaching and so the need of a cheap (in 1983) summer car. Wink

I don't think I need to introduce what's an AE86 any more?
This is an iconic old car, which now cost a kidney when correctly preserved!

My work will be an approximation of an AE86, with as close as possible stock specs.
(Like if you walked in your dealer-room in 1983!)

I started up that as a side-project while dealing with daily health issues but it turned out to be way more interesting to make than what I envisaged.
I'm eager to make progress at any time my body let me. Rofl

Thank you. Smile

I got health issues that greatly slow down the project but it's not dead!

Quote from Tomsteel :Applying any decals for example on the side, it would look strange if the gaps would be painted aswell. For a full coloring like on your picture I found it easier to tweak the sliders for the body color rather than painting it on the skin, but I might be wrong, so please correct me if so.

Keeping the gaps body coloured is reducing opportunities for skinners, even a simple two tone scheme is sadly looking weird due to it.
Anything placed on a skin can easily be made to fit around the gaps (it only takes a second to make a mask layer).
I genuinely think more complex skins (like racing painjobs) would suffer from that; I hope you see my point.

Would it be possible to make the white parts skinnable like the rest?

With its 6.4m length, you'll be able to cut other people with ease. Rofl

I reworked the front part of the roof and continued working on the front/side.
Here's a screenshot from Blender with dummy materials. Thumbs up

Creating cars to hit the racetrack is great but.. how do you transport the parts, tyres and equipment?

Wonder no more!

RWD, lovely turbodiesel, 3 seats and four wheels! Big grin

Vaguely based on a Transit Jumbo high roof, similar specs planned.

Here's the current progress, the meshes are a bit messy but I believe it's actually my most perfected one. Rofl

Trying out the current progress in game to check how LFS handles the model.
It's way better than I expected, I'm eager to progress and reach the point I make the suspension model. Smile

Is there a way to keep maps/cutouts when reloading an obj?

I agree to both of you, I'd love to have proper hybrid drivetrains and I'm also impatient to drive like a grandma on TC. Big grin

I lost motivation and love for my work due to the improper modelling, so I scrapped my work and started over, in hope of better quality.

Here's the bumpers and a early model of bonnet:
