I'd say Kimi is all smiles, unless there is a news team pressent.

I realized that I need a third car in the road sport class (tuned to compete with FZ50 and Raceabout). Preferably something with the characteristics of a Corvette or a Viper, but a Ferrari (that looks like a 911 vould be ok too and a good opposite mate for the FZ) or possibly an awd racer in that class.

I do agree with Jan that most tcc's have silly handicap systems built in to prevent good cars and drivers from winning with a margin, and that DTM2008 might be a good sollution for that (*). But DTM is not a touring car series, its a sihlouette series with prototypes.
I realy want touring cars to be souped up street cars (but sadly I fail to see a competetive series in such cars)

* This is proved by V8SC where the homoglation process produces two almost identical cars one marked Holden one marked Ford.

I also agree that there is a need to show the track audience (that might be too far from the jumboscreens to see the standings) who has pitted an who has not. (I was on STCC a month or so ago and it was alot of guessing in the end about the standings in the midfield and back)

How did I miss this, it's probably the best of their crappy car shows.

Clarkson got burnt in the face in the last episode in a porsche accident (to prove that whatever 5thgear do topgear can do too)

(I wouldn't call this post a spoliler)

OT: PS there are fansubbed versions of DMotor available on da interweb DS

V8Supercars beats everything easily in entertainment other touring car series are:
too uneven (one driver that can drive in fast car and alot lof losers) or have too many wreckers (btcc, dtm, wtcc), or
have too many random in series homoglation tweaks to keep it interesting, sometimes
the tv production plainly sucks (all GT racing I've ever seen, it's not my job to keep track of all team strategies to keep track of who is winning), some
drive on too boring tracks (like only turning left or not turning at all)

Memorable mention:
Rallycross (espesially when they have the alternative turn you have to take once) (I dont think alla series'se got that)
SCCA Runoffs (all cool US amateur series final, formula vee, protorypes classed by displacement to weight ratio etc.)
Truck trial, Icelandic formula offroad, hillclimbs etc. Fantastic to watch once in a while, but I surely cant geep glued to the screen for 1000km's worth of racing as I can with Bathurst.

Sweden got several F1 contenders.... errr.... lets say GP2 contenders. Or A1GP contenders to keep topic. (None will prolly get enough $$$ for F1 but I can dream)

Alx Danielsson is close, Won World Series by Renault 2006, currently in Swedish Carrera Cup.

Björn Wirdheim (currently in formula nippon and super gt) (famous for missing the pm about a moved finish line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5AyzMHsb9g )

Two more on the watch list:
Marcus Ericsson just won formula bmw uk.
Sebastian Holtenthal won formula renault 2006.

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :They should just ban weaving and heavy braking/accelerating when behind the safety car. It would make it safer, and also make it very interesting with cold tyres after the SC comes in. While talking about that, they need to stop people cutting across the track straight away from the starts. While Hamilton always leaves room unlike Schumacher used to, I still think its a bit dodgy.

LOL @ fanboy

(extra bonus for the "Schumuie was also dirty"-defence)

I sure do hope FIA clearify the rules about behaviour behind the SC. What Hamilton did was dangeorus (but permitted), I beleve I remember Mansell doing a similar stunt in GP Masters.

Firstly, please disregard any tabloid comments by the press, it's just silly (nothing is true unless you see it with your own eyes, everything else is more or less slanted or marketing).

Quote from spiderbait90 :Imagine James Allen tommorow if Hamilton wins the championship.

THAT is something i dont want to hear.

It will be something like this: http://video.google.com/videop ... type=search&plindex=0

Current wish, rain: 1. Kimi, 2. Vettel (to redeem himself), 3. Heikki, 4. Massa, 5. Alonso, DNF. Hamilton (to make things interesting)

About Japan: FIA should clearify acceptable driveing after safetycar, Hamilton have just learned from others how to outfox the competition, but it is dangeorus.

No need to argue, Hamilton IS the best driver in the best car currently (he is probably not at all responsible for the car being so good)

I look forward to see him in the (wrecker series) DTM.
I hope they fill his place with a current GP2 driver so Alx can get a GTP2 contract.

Quote from AstroBoy :Then again theres about 2 meters of track that Vettle could have used while not being up Webbers ass,

There were probably 8 meters where Vettel could have avoided Webber but he might not have known which for all the spray (I need onboard to conclude that)

Anyway I would have LOLed so hard I wet my pants if anyone else than Vettel (or maybe Kovalainen) did it, now it was just sad.

My hopes for next race, for a exciting finale: 1. Kimi 2. Whoever (massa or rokie) 3. Alonso; Hamilton blows the engine.

Breaking to almost a full stop on restarts are dangeorus and should be banned. Going slow is OK, even very slow, but not trying to get others to crash.

Mayländer deserves a podium for all his leading laps.

Im from scandinavia. Black Ice puts the excitement to winter driving like nothing else.
You drive 60kph(catiously becuase its winter) on the snaking winter road in the middle of nowhere, then after some breake tests you drive 70 (the legal speed), then (since you feel so secure with the tarmac, can read the forest for how the road turns and are in a hurry) you slip into 80 and sometimes 90(the normal speed :shhh, then you see your goal and break to turn, and nothing, exactly nothing happens no squeeling tyres, not even scrubbing noises, you try the pedal again and its no difference (well if the road turn you understeer as you break) you just clutch and roll untill the speed goes down or you hit tarmac, then after a 180turn you see the white stripes in the ice from the studs.
Even funnier in a wvbus with 40/60 brake bias (due to broken load sensor, I learned later)

Happens not in racing except in eiskurve.

I don't care what class they drive as long as it's pressented with only onbards in good angle.
I might stand watching historic classes from stationary cameras.

Sweat deal. I payed £300 for 20 laps in formula vauxhal(opel). (at a 2km configuration of Mantorp Park in sweden). Took a day with all the theory and driver changes etc.

Good luck, and don't push too hard(*), concentrate on driving perfect in the beginning (downshifts are alot easier in a sim).

*becuase its embarressing to wait for someone to drive over with a starter battery.

My next step is 36 laps in a radical for £900, my piggybank ia shaking when I lok at it

I realy love it, when I select a nice suitable technical track, drive some laps to get in phase with the car and do some rewarding laps, pure joy when the rear swings around in perfect pendlum in the tight turns. Pure hate and despair when the blood sugar levels decline and it understeers right past the apex and front first into the armco or when the big lump of engine just simply overtakes me just when I was about to accellerate out of the turn.

-Understeer
+The way you cope with understeer

Edit: I would hardly drive it online, since I wreck it even when Im enjoying it (but those are fun wrecks)

I would love if it was builtin like the sfx menu or a hidden tab on setup, online the cars would show up as TW0-TW9 (power to weight ratio clases (or maybe power to wheel width ratio).
Those interested in a LOL can try top 400kph on blackwood and still make the turn, enjoy the true spirit of dragracing or maybe create a series of 1355kg 600hp touring cars with stiff rear end.

This is a trap!

But is it a trick to make unsuspecting hillbillies watch cars turn right or a trick to make race enthusiasts watch oval racing? (if I could rephrase that more inflamatory I would

I consider Oran park one of the best the best tracks in the world, as good as Bathust almost as good as Nordschleife.
Every single turn is hard, if not by itself its due to preceding turns/bumps/jumps, that sorts out the men from the boys. And its possible to pass even if its a tight twisty track (becuase its so easy to screw up the exit)

Lowndes had unbeleavably bad luck. Well deserving winner A bit too much elbowing but mostly race incidents.

Regarding the incidents they may have to get a faster safetycar for wet races so the tyres are driveable on restarts. That or release the field for a coupple of laps with full course yellow (eh, that would lead to alot of stupid team tactics)

<flamebait>(and they might drive circles around the wonderful group b cars (due to 20years of development) )</flamebait>
