How does this forcing feature from the server side will contribute for a more real sim? It will contribute for a more empty sim, that's for sure...

I undestand that some of you like to use the cockpit view, and like to be as much hardcore as you can, but if you already use the cockpit view when you race, why in the world do you bother if the other player on track use it or not?! What difference does it make to you?!
(apart from the auto_x drivers, and even those don't really have a valid point - If you think wheels view is advantageous, use it! It's there!!!)

And don't BS me with the equality crap, cause that's the last thing it would be!

Why should Force cockpit view should even exist?

People must be allowed to drive with the view and other options they want! Only that way you assure equality among them, otherwise people already used to the forced options will have a huge advantage!

If you like to play hardcore, then personalize your options! You can! But why do other should be force to?!

Do you understand the concept of freedom of choice?

The thing is, like rFactor failed in the multiplayer side, by having so much mods, people have dispersed, and you either join a league and compete weekly, or so, because you can't have the instant good action you have on LFS. You choose a server and there you go, you can have fun instantly!

By adding this option on the server side will disperse people too, because the drivers that don't drive with the cockpit view won't join the "fcv" servers, and leagues, and that means drivers that used to race together on a server will do it no more just because they use diferent view options... That's even more deadly to the sim that allowing mods...

The view to drive from should allways be an option from the client's side, not the server's.

Some said nkpro has this view only...
- That's Right, nkpro don't have the track minimap either, or the tire display, that's why I don't drive it and never will, because I don't like it.
I purchased LFS because I like it the way it is (was), and because I'm able to drive the way I like it and I can enjoy driving it.

Thats a false argument, that you join a server only if you want, bla bla...
(I know that there are a lot of pseudo hardcore elite drivers that think you're only a simdriver if you use the cockpit view, and that you're good only if you drive that way... That's of course not true.)
And this idea will make the most popular servers and leagues to use that option, pushing away good drivers, and make it impossible for them to participate, pushing them away from LFS...

P.S. I'm still waiting for someone to point me positive things on having this option!

I drive an "in car view" on all cars, but not the cockpit view!

I make a custom view to view from inside the car, but have to personalize it to be able to enjoy driving. And I think that is what is all about: ENJOYING!!!

I'm sorry to be so strong here but is stupid to use and option to force any type of view, like any type of controler. If is true that is preferable to drive LFS with a wheel, in not less true that there are near WR's made by drivers with keyboard, or mouse. Now imagine those people having to drive with a wheel, or not driving at all...

I just can't still understand where the hell did this came from in the first place!

I have to disagree with the "force cockpit view" option.

Is true I prefer to drive with a view from the cockpit, but not the default cockpit view.
I have to edit the view, like the x and y position, and a few more small changes, that have to be made with the custom view, and are not possible to do with the default cockpit view.

On the single seaters, I find it almost impossible to drive with the cockpit view, as the eye position makes almost impossible to view some curbs aproach, and other things. I believe it will only makes a worst driving experience for everybody, causing more accidents.

For example, in the single seaters, I use a view over the helmet, like cokcpit, but not the cockpit view.

You see, people that uses only one monitor, and I believe thats most of us, just can't enjoy the driving experience being obliged to drive in the cockipt view, and I know some servers will have this option activated, being those the "pseudo elite"...

A driver quality has nothing to do with the view it uses, although I agree that having the mirrors on the view you use it helps to avoid hitting other drivers, but thats it.

In conclusion, I have to say this option should be removed, because by being there some servers will use it, and that will push people away from them, and then from LFS, or people will race anyway, but will be less competitive, because they are not used to the view, and will cause more accidents, anoying people that drive well with the view, but will get hit by those who are not.

Of course it does... I believe you can notice that even on demo.

It used to be on the connection list (by pressing N) and after the player name it was an K and a B for voting Kick or Ban the Player XXXX.

But now it doesn't show that after the player's name...

I'm still pleased having the fantasy ones, since is a great simulator, and so it allows great fun, but...

I voted no, just because I don't think that would solve the problem from people uploading bad quality skins, and would keep people that make nice skins and cannot pay to upoad it...

I agree with the download fee for the High-res skins -> If your pc can handle it, and you can afford it, go for it! But I have to disagree with an uploading fee.

And come on, stop with this "would you pay for this... would you pay for that..." threads already!
Implementing pay for content would kill the game as we know it and how we like it...

Well, I answered no, just because my pc might have some troubles dealing with it. When I upgrade it, I think I will consider the OPTION. (that's right, remember is only an option!)

I wouldn't call it a price, but a contribution, considering the increase on the traffic generated, and so I think is fair enough.

I have searched the forum and did't found anything about this.

I would like to ask if it's possible to someone that feel's comfortable with a little programming, to do a really simple tool, just like a (red) led that we could place next to the monitor (like a web cam), connected to a usb port, to use has a shift light, just like the way kegetys momo leds work.
Maybe using insim...
It would be better because the wheel is on a lower position to the peripheral vision, and the lights on the wheel are not that bright (and are green)

I suppose it would be a very cheap solution (and I could then change my red momo to a G25 :razz

FXR for Chevrolet
XRR for Pontiac

and it should have the original season skins for each team.

I don't have many experience in oval tracks, but I would be up for it.
