RETRO CUP 26
RETRO CUP 26

S.MARTIN takes the headlines at Westhill!!

S.MARTIN takes victory in what was an absolute MAD Opening Round of the Retro Cup 26!

It's the second victory in Retro Cup for him, now race winner both in Road Class and LMP1: one of the most consistent drivers in the series, Martin kept his head cool through all the race, reducing the risks and pushing when needed, bringing a great debut LMP1 victory.

12 seconds behind is S1DUS Unite, a strong performance, not far from the leader, despite having narrowly avoided DNF after a massive crash that sent him flying from the back of the circuit to the main straight.

ZFRL LG-Mies completes the podium despite a troublesome race, ahead of RG^Rony., who was innocent victim of a monumental Pit Lane exit crash with /SRP/Master and S2S Tomus!

Terrifying crashes as well for series champion ZFRL Thehemuli, involved in 4 race ending crashes in traffic.
Can the Zafiralis prodigy bounce back from next round already?

With the championship favourite struggling and new names at the front, this is going to be a fascinating season for LMP1's!

LMP2

- MAZDARATI confirms his LMP2 dominance, but it wasn't a walk in the park for the Retro Cup ace.
Some traffic mishaps and an excursion costed him precious seconds.

Dennis Lind, on the other hand, started the race with a stunning pace on his Wessex car, but he eventually started to get tangled into traffic incidents, that ended his race prematurely.

Mazdarati, SIMOX and RG^Lorenzo then started a three way fight for the podium, with Mazdarati having the better of it and flying solo towards the chequered flag!

Race podium is completed by SIMOX on his Beta Skull car and series organizer RG^Lorenzo, in P3, while J.Cooper retired for a crash, after a very promising first stint of the race.

LMP2 is looking as competitive and as tight as ever this year, with new contenders spicing things up: should be a great season!

GROUP 5

With great surprise, Group 5 was the least attended class of the day, after being one of the most popular last year!

GABOR took pole with the smallest of margin over [SYN]C.Tawn, but the drama started right after the green flag, with [MRC]TimDC and Tawn getting the start trajectory wrong, then going back towards the racing line and causing a massive pile up.

[MRC]Michal was one of the involved cars in the incident, wich led to retirement.

In front, Gabor set into sailing mode, while delivering an amazing race pace, not far from the back of the LMP2 field.

C.Tawn managed to recover after his start incident, finishing in P2, while [MRC]TimDC sustained lots of damage in the early trobules, and was forced to retirement.

GROUP 4

Introduced with success in last season's big finale, the GROUP 4 BVR N1 Procar proved to be a fan favourite again!

15 drivers set laptimes in qualifying for the class, and it was set to be a cracking race, and it was!

The race start was madness, with [TC-R] Adam narrowly avoiding the massive start pileup and taking the lead of the race, but it wasn't long before TAV-IvanR launched a succesful attack for P1.

A three way fight for the lead started with Adam, IvanR, and [MRC]Suforr (last season's road class runner up), changing positions multiple times.

The battle carried on for a few laps before Adam started to make a gap: Suforr was pushing to keep the white car in sight, but got wide while lapping a Road Car, and slammed into the barriers, retiring.

The race was lively from front to back, and the fight for the lead culminated in a spectacular side by side battle between Adam and [SyN]Hiwatt, that lasted for half a lap, before Adam estabilished his lead.

It's the first Retro Cup victory for [TC-R] Adam, ahead of [SyN]Hiwatt and YES Sobis, who completes the podium after a well fought race in the pack.

Behind we find one of the best rookies, [BRT] Robin Josse in P4, ahead of /SRP/Master, rookie S2S Tomus and /SRP/Kamileon!

ROAD CLASS

Most of the big guys from the memorable last season's campaign showed up again this season in Road Class, with brand new cars on the field.

Trespasser, the reigning series champion, was beaten by B2R Stiefla in qualifying, both on Porsche, but it was clear from the beginning of the race that another driver would threat for the race win.

It was SGR Madjester, the only driver racing on the Piran Firefly 300: Madjester escaped safe the start crash (unlike Trespasser), and started to follow close the leader Stiefla.

Further behind, it was drama all over the place for RG^M@CI3K, who got unlucky to be tangled in a crash with [MRC]Jsk, who spun out just in front of him.

GUM||Donald watched the drama and jumped in front: meanwhile, it was another dramatic moment in the race as Stiefla got crashed by the prototype 2 of J.Cooper.

Madjester jumped in the lead of the race and was looking like the favourite for the win, with a constant pace and racing, but Trespasser started to get big in his mirrors, after recovering from the early crash.

Before the battle for the lead even started, Madjester ended up in the grass and went wide in the grass, losing precious seconds: the Piran firefly driver will encounter more troubles later in the race, with a double front puncture that relegated him at the back of the field.

Trespasser celebrates victory despite not always looking comfortable with the new porsche package, ahead of GUM||Donald and RG^M@CI3K completing the podium for Race Green!
After the double puncture, Madjester drops to P4.

It's AUTOCROSS RETRO!

A completely different challenge from Westhill: it's more of a stop&go circuit, with sharp corners but also with super fast bits that will require surgical precision from the drivers.

The track also features a stadium section and a 4 lane wide main straight, perfect for overtakes!

The race is going to be on Monday, September 28th, but you can't miss the TEST RACE, that's going to go green next monday already!
