Hosting Regulations

1. Terminology and definitions

We define the following terms used in these regulations:

1.1Host: An instance of the Live for Speed game hosting software, that may be rented through our hosting system.
1.2Hoster: A person or group of people that rent and/or operate a game host on our system.
1.3Guest: An LFS user who joins a host using the LFS game software.
1.4Unconditional donation: A financial contribution to the hoster, e.g. to support ongoing costs associated with running the host. Unconditional in the sense that it does not buy restricted or otherwise unavailable benefits or privileges, such as in-game credits or access to mods.
1.5Real world money: Currency that has value in the world outside of Live for Speed (including fiat currency or cryptocurrency).
2. General principles

Live for Speed is inclusive for all people around the world and is free to use after the initial purchase.
These principles must be extended into the hosts running on our system.

2.1Racism, sexism and other forms of discrimination must not be allowed on your host.
2.2Your host must be free to use by the guests that join.
3. Donations and in-game currency

Some types of game host may use an in-game currency or credit system where credits are awarded for actions in the game. Such credits can be used to access game elements (including vehicle mods) but cannot be connected with real world money.

3.1Hosters may only accept unconditional donations (see definition 1.4 above).
3.2Hosters must not accept real world money to purchase in-game credits or access to game elements (including vehicle mods).
3.3Hosters must not allow real world money to be used by players to purchase in-game credits from other players.
3.4The simplest way to enforce rule 3.3 is to exclude any mechanism for players to freely transfer credits to other players. But if credit transfer must be included in your game, you must take steps to ensure that players do not engage in deals, inside or outside the game, to transfer credits in exchange for real world money.
4. Enforcement

If a hoster is found to breach the regulations or allows guests to breach the regulations, we may take actions including but not limited to:

4.1Hide a host from the List of Hosts in game and on our website.
4.2Shut down a host and prevent it from starting up again.
4.3Ban the hoster from using the hosting system in future.
5. Changes to the regulations

Live for Speed reserves the right to update these regulations if changes are required.
