Nice shot Boris

How's the connection to server issue for people after the patch? I haven't played since the update but I hear there's still problems, including sound (which I thought was my sound drivers but apparently it's a game problem).

I've come to realise I'm just crap at these kinds of games now. Age and tiredness... It's amazingly fun though and the maps are quite brilliant. Fav' maps currently:

Gulmud Railway
Rogue Transmission
Dawn Breaker

(about to unlock the RPG as an engineer, which should help a bit).

I haven't crashed ingame yet, but there have been a few times where Siege of Shanghai wouldn't load and I'd have to try again.

Been playing for a couple of days. Anyone with performance issues, if you're on win7, I'd definitely recommend upgrading to win8. It's a night and day difference in my experience. Running (mostly) Ultra settings (2x AA, no motion blur) with a Geforce 570 and it's very smooth.

I tried to buy pre release but was met with an empty screen after going through the motions of buying the game.

Fuunybear- I'd agree with you but imo there's one problem with waiting for everything to be sorted out wrt bugs and other things- that by the time you get the game everyone else knows the maps back to front and you end up getting whipped online. That's actually the only reason I'm willing to get this game when it comes out, to be level in experience with the other players. This is my situation with BF3 now, as I never really had enough time to get into it, when I feel like playing online now I just die a horrible repeated death and it turns me straight off. That's my justification anyway. Perhaps I'll still die a horrible repeated death when BF4 comes out.

PS- anyone playing Hawken? I just downloaded it and I think it's great.

Was looking like it was going to be fun, but I would probably prefer the older Simcity style over a 'Sims and the City' type of thing. I hope they can patch up the mess the game is apparently in.

I think PC games are doing fine. It's me who's outgrown them. Of course any big name game will overshadow an indie, but the indie game scene is thriving in spite of and probably more so because of the dominance of the big publishers. Just to show my age, the best game in my opinion to come out last year was 'Legend of Grimrock'. You couldn't call it original though, not by a long shot. It was just an old idea infused by new technology. It was terrific. My problem is I'm getting too tired to even play a game these days. If I was 14 I would be all over BF3 like a rash.

Wreck It Ralph -

Great movie! Very smart, beautiful visuals- blockbuster 3d animations have sunk a bit in quality and originality recently (Brave- meh, Planes- no thanks) but somehow Wreck It Ralph gets it right. I can't wait to show this to my son when he gets older.

Hi RacerX!

I got hold of your first link last night and started saving out pages from it. But that parts manual is an excellent resource- just what the doctor ordered as now I can see the different bits and pieces in isolation. Awesome

Thanks again!

Looking for schematic of Ferrari 360 Spider Engine

Hi guys, just a quick request to see if anyone around here knows where I may be able to get hold of a top-down and side schematic of a Ferrari 360 Spider engine? I've set myself a 3d modelling challenge in Maya/Zbrush, I have some nice reference pictures but I feel I would be much better off with some proper orthographic reference in order to get things as precise as possible. This is the engine in question-

So far my googling hasn't turned up what I'm looking for but I thought someone around here may know where to look.

Thanks in advance!

Quote from Intrepid :Moonrise Kingdom - If you like Wes Anderson you'll like this. stellar cast too.

This was really fun. Loved it. PS, if you'e ever seen a Wes Anderson storyboard you'll understand why his movies always move and look a certain way. I think a lot of it comes down to bad drawing!

'Keane' - My partner and I were really getting into Homeland and then I found out about this movie which the main actor (Damian Lewis, playing Brody) previously starred in. Deals with some heavy issues- abduction, mental illness. It's pretty intense and very engaging due to the wonderful acting by Lewis. Recommended.

'The Hobbit' - I came for the CGI and I stayed for the CGI. I almost can't believe just how much work went into it. Weta is at the top of their game. The goblin lair is probably one of the most epic environments- real or virtual, I've experienced in cinema. The goblin king is a great character. A few too many what I call 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull moments' (ratcheting up the 'Epic' to absurd levels).

Quote from Mysho :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KppTmsNFneg I assume you know this clip...

This is kind of an argument for lack of processing power. If pCars were able to include such physical soft body deformations in their product and have it run at a rate acceptable for a racing title, they (or others) would probably do it. They can't.

First build test for me since the introduction of the new tire model. Some cars I feel are pretty strange. The open wheelers on the other hand tend to make a lot more sense and the formula rookie especially is really shining. Worth a check out if you'd given up earlier imo.
