What do you want to record? CarFocus has various possibilities to control the camera or have automatic focus on a car/driver.
  • Camerapath, usefull for creating timeless camera scene, example
  • Free Shift U, static camera position but automatic focus on the driver/car
  • Race Director which has been in alpha stage and probably will stay alpha stage.
  • Other fancy way of having camera looking at a driver is, having the camera location based on other driver his location.

Quote from Gerdoner :Now, as I understand it I place the camera in shift-u mode, press add camera, place the next camera in shift-u mode, add camera etc.

What settings did you use in Shift-U mode? I can remember that there might be some issues when the time was 0 or 0.1 (most left). Or when the camera was in follow mode. Can you try again with the time at 1 sec and not in following mode?

hey Joe,
It seems that you missed my signup and my PM's which you didn't reply. Could you verifiy that my signup is alright? You seem to add other racers to the spreadsheet who have signed up later than me.
Cheers

You can't use the camera positions for the race viewer with CameraPath. You have to record, reset those in CameraPath again. They are more specialized with additional info like FOV, heading, pitch. These are needed to replicate each sequence.
In a nutshell, you position the camera, record, move to the next camera and record again. I haven't made a interface to edit individual camera position. So if you made a mistake or wrong position you have to delete and redo the position again. A tip to make the transition more smooth, without any speeding up or slowing down, move the camera buttons so they overlap each other, that way LFS will go to the next camera location. It seems that something went wrong with recording the information for the CameraPath file. I've attached an corrected version of your camerapath file, it works fine here
I know the interface for editing the camera information is not that great. Have you altered the file yourself in notepad? Or removed the Cameras in CarFocus? Note, there might be a bug in collecting/recording the camera information though
Cheers

Edit, corrected the other version as well.

Quote from Tungsten :Thanks a lot for this fantastic application !

Thanks
Quote from Tungsten :Just a little problem... "Save Camera Path" seems to work fine (file is created), but "Load CameraPath" doesn't work. Seems to do nothing.

I use V.2.93 with Z15 on vista.

Bye

Could you sent/reply me the camerapath file contents? Include the information: which track you used and how you try to 'replay' the CameraPath.
I can try to replicate it or to make it more easier to work with.

Nice to see some progress report. I would love to see some technical information about the algorithms of LFS compared to RL.
I hope it would bring some new feeling to LFS, to relearn the cars or even the combos.

I chose to add the LFS Remote part in the broadcaster application because, when your broadcasting a race, people can follow it on the stream and via the remote. And having remote as some visual aid to know where the cars are, names, laptimes and yellow flags ect. I don't really see why this has to be added in the CarFocus application because LFS would be not active and that means no sound.
I'll have a look at the code to refresh the list on those happening and I thougth I fixed the button crossover. I'll have a look

Made a few adjustments and some bug fixes. See here for Downloads & Information
The automatic group focus is working but not working as it should. So I advise you to not enable it and use it.

Here a overview of the Broadcaster features

If you explain what you tried? Have you tried to connect with any other insim application to LFS. Do you know how todo that?

Try for example localhost or 127.0.0.1 as hostname, and use your insimport.
Enable insim by typing /insim=30000 or your insimport.

CarFocus should connect to your local IP and on the LFS insimport. I think you connected to a LFS Server?

It took a while, but here is another release of CarFocus. The new feature is the broadcast section to control LFS cameras via another PC. The rotatable CustomView cameras are really cool to see: http://vimeo.com/5381078
Visit the link below to see the information about CarFocus features. I've noticed that there might be a few problems by a few people. I hope by this release to pin those problems down and fix those.
You can create a ticket on the website to report any bugs or requests. I appreciate both

Quote from -NightFly- :gratz finlandia for making it to the dev team

It was a short time. It was inside team joke, which we thought it might be fun for others + the video of the wrong exit in the pit lane was just the perfectly timed and hilarious

Qual: Times of the top 8 where really close together, .03 .04 .05. And in the last minute could snatch 2nd place. 1st place went to Blauwhoff in his FXO, so that meant 1st place in T1 for me :P

Race 1: Had some nice door 2 door racing with Blauwhoff, but as mine tires were getting hotter and hotter lost a few places. Could recover 3rd place in the last few laps again. Happy with the result.

Race 2: Start of the race was pretty packed. Someone sabotaged mine right rear suspension, which made the outside of the tire hotter than the innerside. So went sideways'ish through the corners and felt like Trulli (train). Decided to pit to fix it. Result dropped back to 17th and fought my way back to 14th.

Not bad results without practice, cya next time I think.
