[MRc] Jsk wins the inaugural season of FBM FOX Multiclass!

🏆🥇 Congratulations to [MRc] jsk (johneysvk) for winning the inaugural season of FBM FOX Multiclass! The championship remained open until the last round, with five drivers being able to clinch the championship, eight eligible for the top three spots. This league was something different than we are used to, even compared to other multiclass events. Drivers could freely choose their car on a round-by-round basis, without committing to one for the season. This opened up a possible strategic edge of trying the class that could benefit one more than the other, in a single round. Since the only standings that mattered were the overall standings, there are no distinguished winners of the two classes - there is only one combined winner, and that is Jsk by a 11-point lead! Even though he did not score a win in the last round on KY2, he still managed to stay on top to claim the championship. Great efforts by 🥈 [SyN] Coyote (Andoni_678) and 🥉 Max Suftappen (suforr) for securing second and third places, respectively, with only 4 points between them.

Admittedly, we had some hiccups on the way, and since we did not want to make this a hardcore league that has a 50-page rulebook, some regulations still had to be put in place during the season. Hopefully these made sense, as all of them were applied to make the otherwise confusing multiclass races cleaner and more fun for everyone. Hopefully some fun was there to be had, and we hope you had a great share of it!

📊 Now onto some fun facts!
  • throughout the seven rounds, 109 individual drivers participated in at least a single session: the league turned out to be more popular than we initially expected!
  • averaging all seven rounds' car picks, the ratio was 58% in favour of the FOX
  • the most balanced round was Round 3 on SO4, with 13/13 drivers in both classes, the most unbalanced was Round 7 on KY2, with a 22/11 split. FOX was the more popular car in all rounds.
  • the most attended rounds were Rounds 2 and 7 (BL2 and KY2)
  • average attendance throughout season: 29.43!
  • between those who attended at least 5 rounds, there were 7 drivers that did not swap car once during the season: Jsk, Coyote, Suforr, Hosep, Rex, Madjester, Hiwatt. All of them ended up in the Top 8 of the final standings! Might have sticking to a single car been the better choice?
  • only 2 drivers attended all rounds: Jsk and Hosep
  • who alternated between the two cars the most? Hermanni, with 4 swaps throughout the season! (in the sequence of the rounds, ignoring absences)
  • average points of those who scored at least one: 46.16, average of everyone: 24.14
  • most podiums have been scored by Suforr (5)
  • as for the number of wins, Suforr, Rex, TJ, Zesty all managed to win their class twice. Between them, only Zesty was able to win with both cars (Rounds 1 and 7). The rest of our race winners: Isaac Price, Coniks, Wow, Jsk, Litti, Coyote.
To conclude, in no particular order, we would like to say thanks to:
  • [MRc] Happyd for providing the 24/7 server and Airio instance, for his kind help any time server-related stuff came up during season, for enabling countdown on server every week, also for spreading the word about the event
  • RG^maci3k for his on-demand help with server- and Airio management related commands (he was not forced to do it, I promise)
  • [TC-R] Adam for his contribution with summarizing multiclass racing etiquette facilitating fair and clean racing, and for his inputs throughout the season
  • Fragmaster's Discord server for being our "home" in terms of discussions
  • everyone who participated in or engaged with our quite novel and experimental league, whether it be racing, contributing with ideas, commenting on it or just following along!
While there are no specifics yet, keep your eyes peeled for a potential Season 2!
