The French League, also called by Frenchies the "Ligue FR", is a friendly league running since the earlier years of LFS on LFS France. It was originally founded by MT-Shark, and since 2008 it moved on the Gcomp plateform build by Gai-Luron, which is also know for his LFS Lapper. It has been managed and ran by many hoster/admins (Shark, Loconstant, Quaid, Momo92i, Worm...), but since 2013, System (Kova.) stayed in charge of it, and has never stopped it despite the lowering grids.
Basically made for french talking people, it has always allowed strangers of another nations to compete in, without any restrictions.
The concept is to take part to a certain amount of events which is an average of 10 to 12 events per season, among which you have 3 jokers, which mean you can miss or fail 3 events during the whole season, they won't be counted. Each event is made by more or less than 4 weeks of pre-qualifying, in which you compete to set your fastest lap on the designed combo at the server, in order to set your grid position. The pre-qualifying ends the night from Sunday to Monday at midnight, french time. And then the following monday at 9:15 pm french time, takes place the race for about 30 mins.
Monday evening featured the penultimate round of the French League, as the season nears its end and the year 2025 comes to a close. For this round, the drivers had quite a challenge ahead of them: the RC6 mod — a replica of the last V8-powered Formula 1 car — on the Westhill International Reverse track. And it was Meuh who secured pole position with an impressive 1:25.890! Kip was only 0.320s behind in second place, while KingOfIce and Cyk shared the second row. Yorry and Lateglue settled on the third row, and DLV, Nanex, Chazz and System completed the top 10 out of a grid of 16 qualified drivers. Unfortunately, three drivers did not attend the start (Lateglue, DLV and Geraxi), bringing the number of starters down to 13, far fewer than the previous round.
At lights out, Meuh got away well, and so did Kip, but the Dutch driver stayed safely behind the red GUM Garage car, allowing KingOfIce to snatch second place. Kip reclaimed the position just one corner later. Behind them, Cyk was calmly watching the trio ahead, while Yorry missed the Sector 2 chicane, cutting through the corners and losing a couple of positions. Further back, Nanex was struggling with cold tires when System spun behind him at the end of lap one. The FSR boss rejoined in P11. The drivers were only entering the second lap, when the race took an unexpected turn! Meuh crashed at the same corner where Yorry had gone off a lap earlier, giving Kip the lead. But the chaos didn’t end there! In his rush to rejoin, the GUM driver almost collided with his teammate KingOfIce, who ended up spinning! A couple of seconds later, Yorry ran wide at the same corner again. Was it a cursed corner? After the chaotic second lap, the running order was Kip ahead of Chazz and Cyk. Nanex held P4 ahead of KingOfIce and NFR’s new recruit and LFS beginner, Akira. LeManchot was seventh, followed by Loopingz, Yorry and System. Meuh retired on lap three after destroying his tires with another spin at the exit of turn 3, which is his second consecutive DNF after Fern Bay's one, where he wasn’t even responsible for the incident. KingOfIce then appeared to struggle with his R3 tires — the entire GUM trio had chosen that compound — and lost two more positions to LeManchot and Yorry. But LeManchot was playing it safe and did not defend aggressively, allowing faster drivers to go through easily. First Yorry passed him, then KingOfIce, who also passed Yorry a few seconds later — and System as well. System, driving with an injured right wrist, unfortunately spun at the end of Sector 2, giving back positions to LeManchot and Akira. Five quiet laps followed, and as we were approaching mid-race, Akira put two wheels on the grass and spun, losing only one position to System.
Just after halfway of the race, Kip was still comfortably leading. And what a lead! Entering lap 12 of 21, the Dutch driver had opened a 10-second gap over his German teammate Chazz. Cyk held third, 11 seconds behind Chazz, while Nanex clung to fourth under heavy pressure from KingOfIce and then Yorry. LeManchot remained in seventh but saw System approaching quickly in his mirrors, with Akira and Tomfuel closing the top 10. At the back, Papator struggled heavily with his car and gave his crew extra pit stop work, but to his credit, the Texas Drivers boss never gave up! System then easily passed LeManchot with the help of the drafting, settling the race's top speed record. It seemed the race would end quietly… but as the final four laps approached, the action ramped up again. Cyk closed the gap to Chazz for second place, and the two began a series of overtakes. Behind them, Nanex used every drop of energy to keep the KingOfIce–Yorry duo behind, but those two ended up fighting each other. KingOfIce passed Yorry first when the Bulgarian paid another visit to the litter at the end of Sector 2. That off-track resulted in a reset and therefore a mandatory penalty was coming. But a lap later, just as KingOfIce was closing on Nanex again and Cyk had secured second place ahead of Chazz, KingOfIce went off once more, dropping a few seconds. A few corners later, Nanex spun as well. With fresh tires from his reset, Yorry first passed KingOfIce, then grabbed the fastest lap of the race from his teammate Kip. He then overtook Nanex easily, trying to build a gap in hopes of reducing the impact of his upcoming penalty. After 21 laps, Kip took the checkered flag and claimed his second win, and in dominant fashion! Indeed, we had to wait 43 long seconds before seeing the second car cross the line. Cyk deprived FSR a 1–2 finish as Chazz completed the podium in third, still his second podium in three races as an FSR rookie. Yorry crossed the line fourth but was immediately assigned a 30-second penalty for the reset. Once times were applied, Nanex held P4 and probably had to wring out his race suit after the effort he put in. KingOfIce finished fifth, with System securing a solid sixth. As we waited for LeManchot, it became official that Yorry dropped to seventh. LeManchot crossed the line in eighth, while NFR rookie Akira finished in a good ninth place for his first race. As in the last race, Tomfuel closed the top 10. Twelve drivers finished, with Loopingz and Papator rounding out the classification.
In the championship, it looked like a bad operation for KingOfIce, but with Rydh absent again, the reigning champion still has all the chances on his side. On the opposite end, Rydh’s title hopes continue to fade, and worse, Kip is now knocking at his door for second place! The Dutch driver, boosted by his masterclass this evening, has extended the gap to Donald and is now only a few points behind the Team Winners' driver. Donald, also absent this round, not only sees Kip escaping with third place but also sees System joining him on equal points for fourth! Yorry holds strong in sixth, while Cyk’s podium moves him up to seventh, passing DLV, who could not take part. Proxima and Nanex complete the top 10.
In the teams’ standings, FSR’s double podium has melted the gap to GUM Garage! Tomfuel’s crew still leads with 1766 points, but they now see System’s crew only nine points behind. NFR finishes as the second-highest scoring team again for the second consecutive round, meaning Nanex’s squad has secured third place — they cannot be caught by Texas Drivers.
The final round will take place on December 15th, and as per Ligue FR tradition, the season will conclude with an oval race: the drivers will be driving the Formula America 2022 on Kyoto Oval Reverse.
Until then, stay tuned — we will soon announce details of our yearly X-Mas Open, which starts right after the last round, featuring three races over three weeks, with the final one on January 5th, 2026.
