Quote from Bose321 :Some cheap 1TB HDD's in RAID would be cheaper and faster with shitloads of more room.

You could argue putting the SSD's in Raid would blow two 1TB drives out of the water. All depends what you need!

My ATI Radeon 4870 died so I decided to make a few changes.

Sure its not the fastest system in the world and the SSD's are only SATA II but the speed is still so much quicker!

60GB Games drive may be small but I only really play rFactor series, iRacing and netKar Pro.

Quote from JO53PHS :Mine has just failed after 2 months

I'm hoping I was just unlucky

Very rare for a Samsung to fail, get a new one under warranty!

Quote from anbiddulph :yes you can, as long as you have your license for 2 years you can deristrict it

Thanks

That's interesting then - I could buy a nice Honda CBR 600, get 2 years experience of riding and then de-restrict it

Right might as well re-use my old thread

Im getting to the stage now where Im looking into booking everything up but I have a little question.

If I can ride any CC, could I for example buy a nice 400cc bike and get it restricted until Im 21? Then I could get it de-restricted again when I pass at 21.

Thinking about getting the V2 myself, my G25 is basically dead now.

Never know I might even load up LFS for the first time since 24th December 2009 :P (Don't count on it though, rFactor and netKar Pro get my time).

Quote from NightShift :Well there are real tracks, not laser scanned though...

It would be interesting to see Oran Park and Eastern Creek converted from rFactor over to nKp.

Indeed

That might be enough to make me actually fire up the new NKP, given up with Sim Racing atm.

Im not touching the new RSC as it's run by Sim Raceway.

I don't support organisations that profit from free mods created by the public ...

Ok thanks

How about a kit like this?

Helmet
Boots
Gloves
Leather Suit
Balaclava

Like you said its an investment so would something along the lines of this not only protect me but also last?

Right final question :P I see I have to do a 125cc test, can they supply a bike or do I have to buy myself a 125cc then after I pass I can sell up and get for example a 250cc?

Sorry for the amount of questions, I don't really have any friends who are into motorbikes.

Cheers,

Matthew.

Cheers for that info mate

Am I best of getting all my gear like gloves, helmet etc first then doing the test and buying myself a restricted bike after?

What is the test like?
For all you bikers :)

Hello all

Basically atm I have a full car licence and drive around my saxo VTR. However I would quite like to learn to ride a motorcycle as they are way more fun and I have the money to do it now!

Im 19 so what is the max CC I can ride and how abouts do I go about getting the licence for that CC?

Motorcycle licences seem a bit confusing compared to cars!

Cheers,

Matthew

Quote from trebor901 :Also their statement to me is utter bs, they're blaming the community for not being willing to help or pay their damn bills for them. They choose to run these things, if they cant afford it incase the community doesnt donate then they shouldnt do it. Its not our fault its theirs.

Oh so it's their fault they were trying to provide and improve the service for the community?

They provided, it's just a shame the community !&%$ on them. Then again the Sim Racing Community is probably the crappest of the lot.

RaceSimCentral has closed.

I was on the review team, it's so sad this has had to close. A real good bunch of guy's kept this up and running in their spare time, only silly Hardware fault's kept it down alot of the time.

Alot of attachments and knowledge will have been lost if they can't get a read only state site up with the backup recovery

R.I.P.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :well, I put a lot of use into my wheel and pedals and surprise.. MINE STILL WORK and I'm not quite gentle with them.

If you weren't such a moron, your's would still work. the Pot's aren't the problem, but good bandwagon jumping...

I hope they improve on their helical gears, that feels pretty ****ing sick.

So because my Logitech hasn't lasted very well Im a moron? Through normal use?

Like I said I like Logitech and use lot's of there stuff, Im just not impressed by there wheels. Simple. So Im not exactly jumping on the bandwagon am I? Same could be said for you, with the "Oh Fanatec are crap" blah blah. Have you ever owned one? No. So you wouldn't know now would you.

Im so glad your not such a trolling prick on the GPG forum.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Or maybe if you weren't overly harsh on it, it'd last.

(Mine's still one of the original batches, and it's good as new. Perfect shifter, wheel and pedals, I even have a Momo Racing that works perfectly as well)

Overly harsh? Im not one of these people that rams the shifter into gear, stamps on the pedals and smashes the wheel lock to lock. The problem with mine seems to be too much use, which obviously is the whole point of owning a wheel lol.

As soon as Logitech stop using the fail pots and dont bring out a new wheel with a few extra buttons on it, I might well come back. All my other Logitech stuff has been great.

Would be even better if their next wheel is belt driven, get rid of the stupid cog system.
