Quote from DeKo :At no point did it tell me that I was going to get a 48 hour hour ban, it says that nowhere. I saw the texts with a warning, but I was expecting a fine or an hour sin-bin tops, not 2 days.

You're so mad you're moaning on 2 forums Never spotted the connection before.

As I said on the other forum, I understand the idea behind it but I disagree with it's implimentation. It does amuse me that you can kill your friend over and over and over again and all is good, destroy his car and its banhammer time! I better behave as I think I have had the final warning text about being a bad sport.

Quote from THE WIZARD DK :Sorry to bump. solar flares are very powerfull. i for one truly belives that if the sun desides to flame the planets. its surely capable of doing so. i think voayger or viking (havent looked it up atm) which was sent out to space in the 60´s, only just reached outta the suns power rays.(dunno the word in english). the sun extends far beyond pluto and far into space regarding flares and stuff.. the moon is also moving away from earth, having impact on these things aswell. look at some very old photos of the moon, and one taken today at the same spot, youll notice how small the moon is today. lucky us we have the magnetic field protecting us somewhat. but if the sun burst on us. theres nothing to do really. the 1859 flare was powerfull. but going further back, earth has been fried before. so that might happen again. maybe not in 2013, but at some point.

It is the voyager probe, if memory serves voyager 1 went to look at a moon but to do this it had to leave the plane of our solar system whereas voyager 2 carried on it's 'normal' journey and I think it is voyager 2 which is reaching the edge of solar system. The moon though isn't moving away fast enough to really be noticable, again if memory serves it is something like an inch (2.5 cm) per year so for any noticable difference in diameter from earch would take too long to be noticable. One thing that does effect the apparent size of the moon is the time of year due to the atmosphere acting as a lens so it can appear the moon is smaller (or bigger) than on another day.

I can take a go at making it, though I have a queue of photo touch up / restorations to do before Christmas so progress will be slow until afterwards.

Quote from Macfox :Really? It's not about patience, rather being honest and open. There are many who have waited and wait and heard the various reasons, PoV, explanations and speculation over the lack of content. It really is beyond a joke and as I said a couple of years ago, the devs show a lot of contempt for the community. About 2 years ago there was significant unrest in the forum after several members pointed out the growing divide between the devs and players. IMO it stemmed from a moderation spree by Eric and to his credit Scawen did respond to try to stem the unrest in the forum, but he failed to answer any questions around the content situation. Instead choosing to conveniently say, that's Eric department and nothing more. Since then not much has changed. A few bored hackers have prompted a patch to the multi-playing code, but still no word on content.

To put things into perspective. It took approximately 6 years to develop the vast majority of current content and in that same time we've seen a few screen shots/videos of 1 car and a track. What many forget (those around long enough) is the stagnation began well before the VW/ROC announcement. At the time there were many calls for smaller content releases, but these went unanswered as has happened so many time since.

The only thing to change is the number of players online "racing", heading south. And the devs seem to be content on letting that continue, ignorant of the implications it will have on S3 sales and the future popularity of the game (development funding).

Ofcourse it is about patience, I agree that the game does become stagnant with things staying the same however everything else you mention is basically summed up by people wanting updates (even if smaller ones) more regularly - how can that not be taken as people don't have the patience to wait for a bigger update?

As I said I agree about the stagnation if things stay the same but then when you consider that:
- We are spoilt really as a forum that we do have as much direct contact with the devs as we do. I am sure you will disagree with this but just compare to other game developers of indie games nevermind mainstream ones.
- You bought the game and since then have received updates and new content. I agree not much but it was still free, we don't have a right to demand more content.
- We are simply players of a game, the customer. You can argue as much as you like about good business practice, dwindling player numbers etc. they know this and maybe the devs read the comments and don't reply or simply don't read them but, like above, we don't have right to be answered.
- Smaller content updates often instead of bigger ones sporadically? Again not our game, not our choice.

I suppose it comes down to that you have expressed your opinion on how the devs should of been working and how they should proceed. It is your opinion though, personally I would rather wait 4 years (maybe 5, 6 etc.) for a big physics update (and anything else we don't know about) instead of some smaller updates that might add content but don't actually improve the game.

Has no one got any patience anymore? You paid £24 and got the game as is, all the updates after that are a bonus. Ofcourse I would like the new physics and content but, as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

All we should say is that to those who joined around the announcement for vws and rockingham - Welcome to LFS, an indie game that takes time. Just be patient and you will get the updates. For those who have been around a long time surely already know what the LFS development is like so why moan.

I think alot of people have become lurkers, I know I certainly have. I turn on lfs once in a while but rarely find a pick up race combo I want to do. Spend most of my LFS time browsing here, racing section or off topic.

As I said on another, through is actions he had saved probably hundreds of drivers lives due to them walking away from accidents that would of previously killed them. Truely an unsung hero.

I think it is posturing by Hamilton and he will stay at McLaren with maybe di resta to Mercedes.

Edit: Forgot, I think if LH goes to Merc then would love di resta to go to McLaren.

I like the viedo, it was a good tribute and showed the reasons why people did love him as a racing driver and why he is still revered to this day.

On the subject though of what happened during his career I think it comes simply to what a driver does on and off the track can tarnish and diminish their reputation however it does not effect the love people have to see them race. Yes Senna did things wrong and many questionable things, tried to engineer situation in teams etc. but on his day he was a phenominal and an amazing driver and that is all that should matter.

Quote from Jakg :Quick example of a UK (flooded) ford...

Would you attempt to drive through that?

I'll try to get the "normal" picture in a sec...

There is a road near me that through heavy rain looks like that however I know the road and know that the water is only ever about a foot deep so no problem. With the colour of that water and no obvious signs of how deep it is I wouldn't even try it.

Quote from Jakg :And how it normally looks...

It's always wet, but it's only a bit of standing water... a car could easily drive through it (although the roads so broken up in practice you actually do need a 4x4 to cross it).

Again wouldn't be sure of it but in this picture it looks like you would be able to walk upto the actual water and see how deep it is and assess if you could drive through it.

Back to the original story though, without knowing why the driver tried to drive though it is hard to say for definate whether it was idiotic or not. Maybe they knew the road and have been through it a million times before without incident and thought it would be ok this time too even with the water deeper than normal. While even that would have an element of stupidity it would be less in my mind than if they, for example, just blindly followed the sat nav.

Interesting little quiz to get an idea on this forums expectations. Looking at the results though, the only one that suprises me is that more people think Schumacher will beat Rosberg on points.

Quote from E.Reiljans :ATCS 840 is tiny compared to Silverstone TJ11.

Look up little devil pc cases, they even make the tj11 look small.

Quote from Matrixi :Took a better shot of the internals.. and fixed the noisy H100 pump with a little diode: clip. Apparently the problem was caused by the pump not being able to withstand any excess voltage above 12V, and mine was running around 12.1V. Kind of shoddy engineering from Corsair not to build any kind of voltage regulator inside the cooler to keep things under 12V.

Very nice indeed didn't think I would like to the look of that case but it alright, looks well laid out inside too. Unlocked fps on lfs must be lolable with a 580.

Looks like a nice car, less like they are trying to do something new for an advantage so hopefully they having a less radical car equals more time spent making it quicker.

Interestingly looking around, every shot I have seen come out so far is front, side but none of the back - wonder what they are hiding back there.

Quote from ACCAkut :bump, I too need help identifying an artist. I have this mp3 that I think I got years back in a now closed limp bizkit forum, named Limp Bizkit - Sweet Machine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_xaADhrLOE

All I know about it is that it is not from Limp, and it sounds to me like the artist doesn't speak english as first language, sounds rather german or skandinavian.

I have no clue to the artist but quite a good song If you think it sounds German or Scandinavian have you tried the lyrics in other languanges as it could just be they sang in English for an English audience though it originally isn't in English

Hellaflush really is the continuation of the modified dubs since then have been 'stanced' for a long time. Personally though some of it looks horrible but occasionally there is some nice looking cars come out of it. Though they do do it wrong function should always be more important than form. While stance cars look good sitting in a car park I would rather have a car you could drive quickly down a little b road without worry of it getting beached on the first piece of sand you try to drive over.

Quote from Cornys :It's an anti-culture movement. It's a natural human responce, and in their minds it is also backed by logic. Works the same with everything from Justin Bieber, to Nickelback, to Star Wars, to iRacing, to NASCAR, to Apple and ect.

Without that we might just all be robots. I know that those who like Call of Duty find it annoying that those type things are posted on this thread, but to those backing the anti-culture movement this thread on the forum list is just as annoying and it prompts everybody to put out their opinion. This is a forum, and that is what is going to happen on a forum; you're going to get opinions.

You are correct in everything you say, it does seem equqlly as fashionable to hate things as much as it is to like them. I am happy for anyone to post their own opinion in here and say what they think and why, not everyone is going to love it and a discussion then could be had. To just come in and say it sucks is pointless, guess I just don't see the fun in trolling.

I know I shouldn't take the bait but - I get that it fashionable to bash COD but why do people specifically come in to a thread on it just to say its sh*t and people shouldn't buy it. Something that may appear to be shocking here, and I am sorry that I am not breaking this gently, people have different tastes and like different things You guys don't like COD we get it, so the simple answer is don't buy it and leave us in peace to play it and talk about without having to read past post after post of the repetiticious drivel of it looks the same, you bought a map pack, COD sucks. As much as I know Battlefield to be a better FPS I have given previous ones chance but I have never got into the game like I have the cod series, I don't enjoy playing battlefield and I do enjoy playing cod so money well spent in my opinion.

Also £50 is a bit steep, between the discount offers and buy something get cod cheap I don't know many people that paid much over £30 for MW3 and when you work it out like that it is effectively the cost of a map pack (considering it is a campaign, survival mode, 16 maps) so renders that point dead in the water.

I agree with Franky.S though, if the COD franchise changes too drastically in one go it would alienate people who play it. People may complain about one part or another of the game but the fact is the people who play it, play it because they like how the game is now. So it isn’t too far to imagine that if the game was really different that the people who play now wouldn’t play it anymore.

Personally though, campaign so far is typical cod which is set pieces and enjoyable. Online, there is a few problems with it but nothing to major and I am enjoying it. The only thing that is annoying me is that elite is down, can’t believe they underestimated the number of people trying to access it.
